Subject: Favorite brand/style of jeans?

Written By: gemini on 09/18/05 at 7:02 am

Do you have a favorite brand that you wear all the time? I'm to the point that if they have a really good fit I'll pay just about anything, to a degree.  I like bootcut or a little flare. The biggest problem is they're so low cut now, most of them have a zipper that's only about a half inch long  :o

I like Levis. I remember I had an awesome pair in the *cough* 70s that were so wore out, they were perfect! Then the rips and tears took over and I had to finally pitch them.  :(

Ha ha! Yes, it gets to the point where the holes are holding them all together.  ;D

Wow! That is a handy skill to have. There's nothing like authentically original jeans.  8)

Thanks. It's very handy to be able to sew. I make all my own pants and can whip up a pair from scratch in around half and hour  :D

You make your own jeans? Man, you must've been paying attention in home ec class! I can barely sew a button on.  That's very cool!  8)

I have yet to find a brand that fits properly.  I have a larger than average butt. ;D ::)  It's hard to find a pair where the pockets aren't too small or too close together or too far apart. ::)

I'm with you.....at this point I think I'd pay a lot for a pair that fit properly.  I think $90.00 would be the maximum I would pay.

I don't wear jeans that often because it's so hot where I live...

But I do love CK denim shorts! :D

I had a pair of Calvin Klein bootcut that fit great. They were perfect. Not old ladyish, no stretch stuff in them, low rise, but not too, they were about 50.00 but they wore out really fast. And Polo fits me pretty good too. I also can't stand stretch jeans.   :P

You know, I used to have a pair of Calvin Klein that I really liked.  I think they wore out fast too. :(

I also have a hard time finding jeans because of my height.  I'm not tall, but not short, 5'7".  32 inseam fits me if I'm wearing thongs or tennis shoes, but if I want to wear heals I need 34 inseam. >:(  It's not easy to find the 34 inseam and have the rest of the jean fit nicely as well.

Lees. The only kind I buy. But, somehow I got a hold of a pair of Gloria Vanderbilt's (probably at the clothing drive one year). I hate to admit it but they feel and fit great. Maybe the next time I am in the market for jeans, I should see if that is a fluke or not.

Hopefully it wasn't a fluke and you'll be able to just go to the store and buy the first pair you try on! Wouldn't that be great?  Never happens to me though, 10 pairs later, I usually just go home and cry!  ;)

My family used to go to this outlet.. we'd drive three hours just to get Lee's jeans.. they weren't even that good.. buy my family loved them. But then we moved 3 MORE hours away, and the jeans just weren't worth a 6-hour drive once or twice a year.. we were in that area visiting family once, so we checked out the old Lee's store.. still didn't like 'em.

I can't get a pair of Lee's to fit me. They just don't for some reason.  :-\\

I don't like high waist. I like low rise, but not too low. Too low is like. . . . ho rise  :D And I'm talking so low that things are showing, if you know what I mean.

Levi's or Mud jeans.

I prefer low rise, but not too low!!! Speaking of which, I must make my point about these pants. If your sides/love handles are perched above the low-rise, please don't wear these pants. You look like muffin tops!!!!! Ugh, there's nothing more disgusting than seeing the girls with no booty and those sides hanging out. I'm sure you've seen them.

I have given up buying jeans in regular stores.   The last decent pair I bought in a store were Edwin jeans, but Edwin has gone out of business.

I buy my jeans in thrift shops.  My favorite jeans are jordache classic fit or stretch.  I also like the Gloria Vanderbilt stretch jeans, Levis, Wrangler, Bongo, and the London Jean (from Victorias Secret)

My jeans must be tight around the ankle, I don't like any type of flare or bootcut.  Even straight leg are a big wide for me, I prefer tapered.

I also collect the old designer jeans.. I have a few pairs of sergio valente, sassoon, britannia, etc but I rarely wear them because they're really hard to find. :)

Relativley large ones really.. I have big Legs.. espcially at the back of my thighs and my calfs..it comes from playing football for years, so even though i can have an inch or two of room in the waist my knakcers are getting crushed because of the shape.

I don't really have a favorite brand, but I like carpenter jeans. I don't like jeans that have the faded/worn look. It looks good on other people but not me. I also can never find my size.

I don't have a favourite brand really.  Just whatever fits.  I think my current pair are from Marks and Spencers or maybe Evans.
