well, I live in Pennsylvania...so places like Pittsburgh, NY, etc. would be closer for me...HOWEVER, I have never been to Las Vegas and I have always wanted to go there....so I chose Las Vegas..it will give me a chance to get there, and meet all of you at the same time!

I chose Las Vegas.  This would be the best place because of the atmosphere.  Everything is centrally located, all the hotels/attractions are all on the same street, everything is in walking distance.  The food is cheap and the rooms aren't too expensive either.  I'm sure some people could even split a hotel room if they needed to.  Vegas is just a big party.  

New York and L.A. aren't well suited for this type of occasion.  Where would everybody hang out if you didn't rent a hall or something along the lines of that?  NY and LA are great cities for sight seeing, but not for a get together.

Of all the choices selected, I went with Vegas -- partly 'cause it seems the popular choice, 'cause there's other stuff to do (unlike, say New York), and also it's not that far from me. :)

It's not set in stone yet, but I might be going to the DeLorean car show in Chicago in mid 2006 - friends and other people from the BTTF board (some of whom I've talked with since early 03 and have gotten really close with) will be there as probably will some BTTF celebs. If I take that one it's probably gonna cost me a bit, so I'll probably have to kinda be frugal for this one.

Of course, I wouldn't at all be opposed if someone decided on having it in, oh say, the San Francisco Bay Area ( 8) ), but you've gotta think of everyone else too.

My Choice is definitely Chicago.

My vote is for Toronto, it's the nearest big city near me.

I said Washington, D.C. because 1.) it's close to where I live, 2.) it's an awesome city, and 3.) D.C.=Don Carlos.  ::)  But you can ignore my vote since I probably won't be able to attend anyhow. :(

It's as low as $39 dollars each way right now from Burbank to Vegas.  It shouldn't go up too much more between now and 2006/2007.

What about between LAX and Vegas? I believe LAX is closer to Oxnard than Burbank is. Last time I traveled via airplane, three years ago, we went to Minneapolis from LAX; a shuttle service transported us to the airport and back via Pacific Coast Highway.

I was there only once...14 years ago, at age 11. My family and I had driven up there after visiting the "Mystery Spot" in Santa Cruz. We visited Ghirardelli Square, drove down twisty Lombard Street, and crossed the Golden Gate Bridge. It was exciting for me.

The closest was when we lived in Sausalito brlefly in late 1985/early '86 - I've gone over the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges tons of times too (my grandma and uncle used to live in Oakland, so most of the time it was when we visited them).

Anyway, before this turns into a "McFly history lesson 101" (which I tend to do alot, LOL) I'll say that I think the Golden Gate Park area of the city is nice - I'm more familar with that area. Although I agree there's some parts that I wouldn't wanna walk through, even in broad daylight.

Yeah, Marty, San Francisco isn't a bad place really. I mean maybe because we live close to it we hear of various crimes more often, but every large city has them and I don't want people to get the wrong impression of San Francisco of being that way. Anyway, yeah, I have been to SF plenty of times myself and I have some great memories there. To be honest I have been to a couple spots that made me feel a little worrisome, but I would say it's a safer city than some would think. I once took Bart and then took a few buses down to the Legion of Honor with two friends of mine. We walked the "streets of San Francisco" alone and we actually didn't even feel all that scared or in danger (and believe me, I'm the first to sniff out danger if I feel it coming on).

Anyway, San Francisco wouldn't be a bad choice (although, I still am not going to drive the city just yet, lol)
