Why would I want to be a pine tree?
Pine Trees (pinus) are a lovely genus of trees, although their thousands of cultivars and most are hard to distinguish from another, but there are plenty of reasons to be a pine tree.
1) The oldest living tree is a Bristlecone Pine (pinus aristata).
2) They are some of the hardisest evergreens around.
3) There are thousands of off-shoot cultivars and are common in almost every demographic in the world, which is rare for most species whic can only survive in certain zones.

Larix - I had a larch but it wasn't a "True" larch. It was what botanists call "pseudo" plants - ones that resemble another, but are another species (why in the heck to they do this - to confuse us even more??) :D
But, my Larix died this past summer. It was sooo cute, too. :0)
