Would like to have seen the all-new Wembley Stadium listed...
Why?
Because it's a 'wonder' it'll ever get completed!
My vote goes to Toronto's CN Tower...most impressive...

I saw the new Wembley Stadium on Thursday, the hoop is up above it, and it seems part of the main structure is up, and looking at it, I makes me wonder?

I worked on the Big Dig here in Boston and a lot of the technology used to build the tunnels here
was derived from the work done on the Chunnel. They are marvels of modern technology. ;)

I chose Panama Canal for what it did for world travel. I havent been thru it yet - but its on my list of "must do's".
Second choice would be the chunnel. It was under construction when I lived in the UK and my husband and I went down to Foulkestone to see if we could get work there - but the day we arived there had been accidents causng deaths in the construction site - so we changed our minds and headed on up to London !! As an engineering feat its right up there with the best.
An Aussie one I would add to the list - considering it was built by hand using mathematics instead of the type of technology the chunnel had - was the Snowy Mountain Hydro Electric Scheme which commenced construction in the late 1940s and is still the largest in the world and indeed a modern wonder. (even tho it killed the Snowy River).

God bless it, it kept me working for 10 years straight without a layoff(unbelievable in construction), and
it still isn't done. This is me on the way to the bank > ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Out of these selections, I chose the Panama Canal. However, I also feel that the Interstate Highway System has to be considered as one of the great wonders of the modern world as well. Having spent several years as a long distance truck driver, and having traveled through 46 of the 48 continental United States (as well as in Canada), I have often found myself being amazed at what a monumental task it must have been to design and build this network of high-speed limited access highways across this vast land of ours. Escpecially when you consider how diverse the terrain of America is, and what they had to do to adapt this system to each state in order to make it work. I was especially impressed by Interstate 10 across Louisiana, where in order to route it across the swampland they had to build an elevated bridge 25 miles long. When you also take into consideration that it took less than 30 years to complete then it does truly rank as one of the great engineering marvels of our time.

I had a good laugh at that before Paul, but couldn't answer at the time, however, you took the exact words out of my mouth ;D
