Thanks to my good friend, I know that the po-pos are stepping up security tomorrow.. they're gonna fine sooooooo many people. Don't use it tomorrow.. after that, it's okay. Just hold off until Sunday or so.

I'm not an advertiser for Bearshare but I compare that to Kazaa and I see a huge selection all the time. I guess it depends on what you are looking for (but not until Sunday though  ;) ;D).

A friend sent me this link http://methlabs.org/projects/ for Peer Guardian. I believe it blocks your IP. Not sure if it really works...seems to.

I love it, myself. Limewire only had 5  Ween songs total... BearShare has given me every track on every album once I looked hard enough, as well as rare B-Sides and Out-Takes.. the only things I've been unable to download are two bands {Ida and some other group, but no big deal, I'm not crazy about either}. Plus, my mom thought spyware could be cured by putting our security on uber-pansy mode.. which permanently blocked LimeWire from our system.

I'd rate BearShare Number One.. Limewire Second.. Kazaa Third.. WinMX last.

After spending years having to hear the "Boom-Boom" from miles away and worse, next to me at an intersection, completely drowning out my conversation and my music which I've never felt I needed to crank up SO loud just because I need attention...not to mention the "Lyrics" they "Sing" or the "Samples" they Steal. But now I just laugh out loud when I see some huge SUV roll up beside me with those tiny little tires that stick out. They all act like little kids in Tonka trucks ;D So, to answer your question, I don't hate it all..just most. And I hate when people refer to it as Rap "Music"....but it's my favorite oxymoron ;)

"Blonde Redhead Misery": Just the songs on that album.

Now, say I just wanted "Melody", a song on there. The best thing to do is:

"Blonde Redhead Melody": Porn. Rememeber, Melody can be a woman's name. So:

"Blonde Redhead Melody Misery": Just the song I wanted.

MX is good for the obscure stuff...

LimeWire (or LameWire as I call it when it has trouble loading!) is good for overall choice...

BearShare requires you to install the SAVE! Network... which allows the ABI Network in.. which installs Aurora, Ceres, and Helios.. all very bothersome. Just do routine scans to elimate the ABI Network, and use your firewall to block all of Save's crap.. you have to keep Save, but you don't have to have it's negative effects.

I bought an 80 gig HD on sale for just $29 last month so I have plenty of room for them there...but, like I said, I do a project and then wipe them off. I doubt I'll ever go back to them. The only reason would be to find stuff I can't on the others ;)
