It seems to me like you have to start collecting all items, then try the numbers on the case. There has to be a right combination to open it up, but for some strange reason only the last two numbers seem to get "stuck"  ??? :-\\

Yeah, that happened to me too. I can't find all of the items, either. There are only so many places that you can look.

There's probably more in the case (like a key to unlock the door). I managed to find a sheet of paper, a knife and something else I couldn't quite figure out. Plus the numbers 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7 (correct me if I'm wrong).

Yeah, I'm not sure about the empty CD case, or the memo.
I unlocked the box by finding the 2 rings and the metal stick. When you find those, they are placed on the top of the box, and then it can be opened. That's as far as I got, though.

The metal stick can be found between the headboard and the mattress, of the bed. One of the rings is in that little gold bowl. I found the other ring by rapidly clicking everywhere....I'm trying to remember where it was, though.

Again I say...this game was designed to make you want to kill someone. It has succeeded in doing so.

I was trying to determine whether the dancing man was trying to hint something, but... all I got out of it was hardcore air guitaring...and I believe a pelvic thrust...but maybe I was just seeing things. *shrugs*

They are addictuve yet frustrating!  ;D  The walkthroughs do help. The more you do them the easier they get..sorta.  ;D

As for the dancing guy, theer is a + he points to. You have to click that and it takes you to a safe. . You have to be fast or you miss it and have to watch him dance again.

I did not get into the safe yet, but let me guess: you have to open it by getting a right combination of 4 numbers.
To get this combination, use the URL on the memo. It will take you to a yellow room where there's four cards on the table. Flip them. ;)

The code I used was 6662 (don't know if that works for you as well). Use the key and the safe will open. There's a screwdriver there. Use it on the door knob in the crimson room and voila.....it opens up!
