Subject: Queer as Folk anyone??

Did any of you happen to catch the new season premiere of QAF? It was a 2 hour season opener. This happens to be the last season of the show. It was an ok opener...nothing too special though.
Who else thought that Ted's hair looked HORRIBLE bleached???
I LOVE Emmett though.....he is the epitome of a classic gay guy!!!

Apart from 2 episodes of The L Word, can't say I've watched either shows.

.. that's on HBO, ain't it?
My parents have HBO, but we only use it for movies {if we're bored and nothing else is on}/Deadwood/The Sopranos.

Most cable shows on HBO and Showtime tend to be around from anywhere from 4 - 8 seasons, even less.
Consider the following....
Sex and The City - 6 seasons
Oz - 6 seasons
The Larry Sanders Show - 6 seasons
Dead Like Me - 2 seasons (cancelled and replaced with Fat Actress, thanks alot Showtime! >:()
Carnivale - 2 seasons
and
Queer As Folks - 5 seasons.
As opposed to network shows that can last anywhere from 5-14 (the longest current run belongs to The Simpsons with 17.)

no, it's not a reality show....it's considered a drama...it airs on Showtime....it's very explicit in nature (lots of nudity, language, sexual situations, etc). It's about a group of gay friends who live in Pittsburgh, PA (even though it was filmed in Canada)...and their lives, diversities, etc.  It's very insightful and interesting, but it's definitely not a "funny type" of show.  This is the final season of it, only 3 episodes left.

yes, that's very true.  I am disappointed that QAF is ending....and as far as Sex in the City...I didn't start watching it until after it was ended...but I love it!  I also really enjoy "The L Word"....I heard they are now filming a 3rd season....so I hope that one stays around for a while.

I watched Carnivale a few times with my parents... good show.
You know what show I miss? Boston Public.. but then, I guess it stepped out gracefully, before it got old {like The Simpsons.. great show, but Jesus... let is die already}.. although there was no conclusion.. just a cut-off.

This has just saved me asking whether this is the British show or an American version of it.I believe there were only two series of the British version but it was a few years ago now so I could be wrong on that.I loved the U.K one anyway, I haven't seen the American version so I don't know how it differs........

I've never seen the British version of the show, only the American version. It's a shame...I just became a fan last season...and now it's ending.

Yep, that 30 seconds of Brian waxing sentimental almost made the whole Babylon firebombing worthwhile... too bad it took him 5 seasons to finally say it... :)

it's on Showtime....however, it's not just about "lesbian relationships"....infact, they hardly ever show anything explicit...just boobs every now and then, usually. It's more of a soap opera type show....although very interesting.

I still think the first season was the best, especially the last episode. "Save the Last Dance for Me" is such a poignant song, and it was perfect in the prom scene.
Hey you know what is fun? Get you husband or boyfreind to watch it and then ask:
"Honey, if you were gay, which guy would you want to f**k?" ;D

how do homosexuals find a lover?
if a strait guy comes onto a girl, the worse that happens he might get slapped
but if a fag makes a mistake and come onto a strait guy he might get his ass kicked :D
I guess they could look for guys with black eyes, but that too can be dangerous, the guy might be a boxer

A gay guy I used to work with had a system....whenever a young, cute guy came into the store and asked for a pack of Marlboros, he would say:
"Do you want a soft pack, or a haaaaaard one?"
Then he would tell them he was a part-time actor and asked if they ever seriously thought about modeling... :P
The irony is, he only wanted to pick up young straight guys, and he used to get them too! It's amazing how well a line like "I can make you a star..." worked, especailly considering it was being tossed out by a fat, bald guy working in a convenience store in frikkin' Sepulveda... ::)

I watched it. I think the ending was quite fitting, as it always seemed like a giant Brian/Justin love story with other stuff thrown in to me...
And I was quite pleased to see Blake show back up and wisk Ted away.... :)
