What's on my licence (number) plate? Mostly dirt...!!

I don't think we've ever had designs, but we do have this 'European' symbol on ours nowadays - a circle of yellow stars on a blue background with the abbreviation of the country on it (ours being GB)

We have two, I think.  A boring white one with blue numbers and the logo "ski Utah" and one with a picture of the Delicate Arch in Moab. 

Well...there are oodles of different plates that I have seen, concerning different organizations, etc...but here is the original PA license plate that most people have:

ya...it's not too bad of a license plate.....it is a revised one....our older one was mostly blue with the gold/yellow lettering.....

although....I always liked the plates that had some sorta picture on them....I really like South Carolina's plate...with the palm tree in the middle of it.

Ours just has the Oklahoma flag symbol and says "Native America" at the bottom.

If you know the code you can work out where the car was first registered.  For example cars registered in the East Midlands all have F* as the first part (F supposedly standing for Forest and Fen).  M* is for cars registered in Manchester and Liverpool (Mersey) etc.

Gee...I guess I haven't looked at this topic yet! For some reason I thought I have. :-\\ Oh well...

In California, the standard plates don't have a design, just navy-blue letters and numbers on a white background (since 1987); before that, the letters and numbers were yellow and the background was blue. Before 1970 they had gold letters and numbers on a black background; some of those plates are still around.

However, for the past ten years or so, California has had "limited edition" backgrounds with things like the ocean or Yosemite National Park.

Ours are a bit boring.

About 10 years back or so, they had the state's bicentannal plate. They were just for the front of your car-and back had your "real" licence plate. I did get one-still have it somewhere. We are not allow to have it on the car anymore.

Where I'm from (British Columbia) it's as boring as other license plates. The letters and numbers appear with the words "Beautiful British Columbia" on top, and a little BC flag between the characters. Some cars have a custom plate with evergreens in the background and the "Beautiful" phrase on top.
