Thank You LB.I can be able to keep my volunteer site as well as having a part time job.Let's say my volunteer site is from 9-1pm and then I can stop by to work at CVS between 2-5pm.We'll have to see what the employer has in store for me. :)

I was supposed to go in for an interview today but the employer said that she had a business meeting to attend so she told me to come back tomorrow.I told her that I volunteer from 9am-1pm and I can come in for an interview after 2pm.Maybe there's a way I can keep my volunteer site as well as having part time paid employment OR I can work on Saturdays cause she said CVS needs someone for the morning,afternoon shifts and weekends.I feeling pretty confident.Hopefully,I can be able to get good references and keep my SSI. :)

Okay day today. But I'm having a spot of trouble now.

The job interview at CVS went excellent.I sat down,shown her my old resume and an updated one and she said it was very impressive,you've got a very nice resume.I told her what I do during the week is that I attend a program 2 1/2 days a week and I volunteer Thursdays & Fridays at a hospital doing in-patient filing 4 hours a day 9am-1pm in the hematology/oncology unit.I let her know my selling points and even that was a good start but anyway,she told me that they need stockboys,cashiers and some light porter maintainence during the morning afternoon and evening shifts(after 9:30pm when the store closes).I also let her know that I'm very flexible and you can always count on me for excellent attendance cause I live right around the corner.But anyway I told the employer let me talk and think it over and I'll get back to you after the Memorial Day holiday in June.This is something I've been waiting for and it's been 11 years and I'm ready to work and to get my life back together.  :)

She talked to me today normally. Not like she was trying to avoid me or anything. That felt good.

I'm at Erins house. My head hurts like a mofo (assuming a mofo hurts badly), I'm annoyed by certain people. Other than that, I feel good.

I am very upset because the V.A. will not pay for my lastest pap smear-considering that I have had abnormal ones in the past-and this one WAS abnormal. As a retired vet, I think that I am entitled to annual "preventive maintenance" (i.e. pap smears, mammograms, etc.).  It just burns me that the V.A. can't "support" us retired troops!!!!  >:( >:( >:(

I'm such a stupid fool! :( I assumed when I went on the interview yesterday at CVS that I had gotten the position already and be willing to start right away but I hesitated and told the employer that I would get back to her and think about it after the Memorial Day weekend so I said to myself that I must call the next day and then the employer told me on the phone today that she has to interview a few more people and would most likely get back to me in a few weeks.I think the hesitation caused me to delay what I wanted immediately.Does anyone think I should follow up about wanting the position in a few weeks? :( I pray that she doesn't give the position away to other people cause this is what I wanted and haven't had a paying job in 11 years. :(

Well, instead of "dimes and nickels" it was 5c and 10c pieces.

Today was my last day of High School. Yay I guess..

Kind of a sucky night. It started off good, I went and chilled with my friend Nick over at his house and another friend named Caleb came by, and then he left. Then at 5:30 Nick asked me to leave because he had to go meet up with someone else. It was someone from our school, but I don't know her very well. Hes very good friends with her. I asked if I could come along but he said no, because she is real cautious about people she doesn't know too well, and shes very selective about who she hangs out with. He likes me and all, but it wouldn't be considerate of her to just bring someone she isn't really friends with along.

So I left his house and went to a nearby shopping center, got some Starbucks, and chilled for a little while. At 6:30 I called up Shaun, who'd given me his number today(I asked if he was busy and he said no so I asked for it). I wanted to go see Star Wars, and he said that he had to go eat dinner pretty soon(I assume he meant his family was going out), and that he would call me when he got back. Well, by 8:15, he hadn't called. So I left the shopping center and drove around for a little while, finally ending up at a public park by the lakeside at about 9:10. It was very nice at night, but it sucked because I was alone. I only stayed for about 15 minutes. Then I left and went to the mall area and ate at a Chinese resturaunt. I left there at 10:45 and headed home. It sucked too, because I was alone. I was the only person in the whole place alone. And I was seated over in this dark little corner. Bleh.


I know that summer is going to be pretty lonely too. I'm going up to Tyler to live with my uncle for the summer. I have to get out from under this roof(too many problems with my stepdad, plus I have a very good summer job oppurtunity up in Tyler). I get along with my uncle, I enjoy being in his house. Hes got an actual sense of humor, hes laid back, he respects me as a person, he encourages me, and I enjoy talking to him. But still...you gotta have company your own age too. You have to go chill with people. And that doesn't seem very likely. I don't know ANYONE up there. I won't be in school. Plus I'm only 17, and I'm out of High school, so I don't really want to chill with people still in High School, but I'm in an akward position to chill with people out because of my age.

I don't know where I'd meet people either. And I lived up there for so many years. I socialize now, but I'm still not really outgoing if that makes sense. The kids I know, we go to a small school, we've been together awhile, and I've gotten some friends over time. So what the heck am I supposed to do up there? I guess just count the days until August 21st(when I'm supposed to move into my dorm).

Today was my last day of High School. Yay I guess..The last day of school... great times.  ;D ::)

While we're on the subject of School, i've got exams over the next week. It's wierd. I've got the bulk of my exams over this week, and i've had a good few last week. Next week it's half term, and then i've only got 2 exams after half term... but they've chosen to give us 2 weeks study leave after half term. Which is good news I guess, coz i can chill for two weeks without worrying about exams  8)

Howard, I would wait until after Labor Day like you originally said that you would.  If the manager perceives you as annoying her by calling all the time, she'll strike you off her list.

We are interviewing for an executive job at my company and there's this guy whose resume looks pretty good.  But lately he's been calling every couple of days asking around, saying how well he likes us, and how eager he would be to get a new situation, how he badly wants to work with us.  With every additional phone call we like the guy LESS.

Stick with your original game plan.  Stores like CVS have considerable turnover, and a job will open up there soon, even if they give somebody else THIS job because you said you needed to wait a few weeks.

That's my opinion anyway.  Anybody else have thoughts on this ???

It has been a tiring week around here.
Last week I was scared to send my oldest daughter to school.
two boys were arrested, that goes to her school. They had numerous guns knives and a machette and a "hit" list of students that they wanted to kill. Thankfully they were stopped before they could do anything. I hope the parents of the kids that were targeted will talk to their kids about bulling. Thats why they (the two boys) were gonna do that. because they got fed up with being bullied.

It'd be NICE if that would happen, but it doesn't seem likely. I HOPE somebody talks to them..

When I find something of interest that other people are ACTUALLY USING, I post there. Note, I've done a bit on the 2000s board {Usually not Politics, I don't like to get caught up in the current-event debates, just opinions on the big issues}, Board Games {though not as much as the people who get 3 pages of "Most Recent Post" there}...

What I was saying last night is that no one was posting on ANYTHING substance. If a board showed up {meaning someone else posted on it} that WASN'T "Happy Birthday" or a Postwhore thread, I'd have posted in a heartbeat. We had a good deal of active members last night, and none were posting anywhere but Birthday Threads.

Yeah, a lot of my posts are contained in the last two, They're MY THREADS. Sometimes they need tending to. Other times, none of the threads on the page are quality. That's when I either postwhore {small doses} or bump one of my own. I figure if people see a thread that isn't Postwhore or fluff, they might start Posting on OTHER good, quality boards.

When something good comes up {good for ME, something I can actually enjoy discussing or posting on}, I'll post on it.

Hi Danoota. :) I felt like a total screw-up after cause I assumed that I had gotten the job but must've forgotten to pay attention. :( She told me the next day on the phone that she would be interviewing a few more people and will most likely call me back or the way around in a few weeks.What I also can do is to keep on applying for jobs either on-line or in person.That's the other alternative right now.But,I'm trying to keep positive. :)

No, no. Postwhoring is when people make continuous posts that no one cares about. Like when people write what song they're listening to, what their eating/drinking... AND NOTHING ELSE. Some people get on, do that for God-knows-how-much, and say little.

Last night we stole a boat and paddled it out to the middle of the lake and continued drinking. We got stuck on some bouys that were put there to.. well.. to stop people like us.. so we had to wade back to the marina, then went back to these guys villa where they had a sauna. It was awesome.

Well.. what do they expect you to do if all the bars close at 1.

Actually.. it's just because they're assholes and our government licence laws are screwed.

Pubs aren't allowed to serve drinks after 12 and have to be shut by 12:30.. 'bars' have somewhat more leeway.. and clubs are usually ok until 3.. but a lot close by 1am on sundays and during the week.. Friday and Saturday you can usually drink until about 3:30.. if you are the last to leave.
