I dont know what the stuff is called my advice is for you to look it up on the internet. 

You probably cant legally transport a sword to the US so dont try it unless you want to be thrown in a prison forever.

I only ask because i have a Navy Officers Sword which i don't really want to leave here when i move.

It's an exceptionally nice sword, perfectly weighted and it was made specifically for my great uncle, who was the only person on that side of the family who had big hands like me, thus it feels good on me.

It's elegant and has an Ivory handle  ::) (shhh)

I expect i would have to pay to have it shipped by some specific agency??

DHL say that you can legally ship it to the US as long as it is properly packaged in a crate and not just wrapped in bubble wrap.
