Where would you go if you had the chance to take a dream vacation? Of course you have all the money you want to spend. I'm sure this has been done before, but since I haven't seen it.......
I would go to Tahiti.

My dream has always been to take a full summer, rent/buy an RV and do a cross-country trip across the entire US.....there would be a point of the trip and not all for merely recreational purposes....
I have plans to write a book that consists of photography/descriptions, etc....of places that are abandoned...no longer exist....roadside landmarks...etc....this kind of stuff has always fascinated me to no end.....and I have always wanted to see all of this first hand.....
so I would travel all over the place and look in different nooks and crannies to find the perfect and unique things to add to my book.
Someday...it will happen! :)

I would looooooove to go to Tahiti. I've looked into it and it's going to set me back about $8,000. And the plane ride is about 16 hours from LA. ::) Give me two years to save the money and I'm sooooo there!

I know you can rent an RV with a bunch of friends and hit every bar you drive past. I wonder how long it would take you to drive across the US safely.

A trip around the country would be awesome too.. there's sooo many places I'd like to go! I'd like to stop in Dallas and go to a football game... go to New Orleans for the Mardi Gras... The IL congressman who lives across the street from my in-laws does that once a summer with some of his high school friends. The 4 of them jump in a jeep and just drive. The only rule is that they HAVE to stop in every bar they come across. Each day, a different guy is the DD. A few years ago, they had been gone for 4 days and only made it about 500 miles ;D
That is AWESOME! I totally want to do that. I'd be such a lush if I didn't have kids. ;D

^ Just gave me an idea.
I wanna play DDR at every machine in America. It'd take forever, but it'd be worth it!
Since almost every arcade has DDR that would take a very very long time and by the time you finish they'd probably have a new one somewhere else, but good luck.

Didn't you say they're getting that game similar to DDR except it has 5 sensors?

lol, I always find it amuzing how threads can go in and out of topic like this one has.
Anyway I actually have 3 dream vacations.
1.) I would love to tour Italy, especially Rome.
2.) Go to Alaska though probably in the Fall because It wont be too cold but still enough darkness to see the Aura Borealis which is something I have always wanted to see.
3.) Is a cross country road trip with friends going around the US.

You don't have to be in Alaska to see Aurora Borealis, my 7th grade science teacher grew up in Acadia National Park (it's in Maine) and saw it very frequently.
I actually saw it in North Dakota when I was about 12 or 13. I was in a camper with my cousins and I looked out the window and it was amazing. I don't think they had ever seen it either, at least not so vividly.
My dream vacation: I'd love to take a month or two off and tour Europe. On of my biggest regrets in life is that I didn't get out and travel more while I was stationed in Germany. I've always wanted to go to the UK (technically I was there once, but I was sitting in a plane on a runway waiting to get refueled and they never let us out), plus I am interested in going back to the former East Germany and seeing how much progress they've made in rebuilding it (it was a mess when I was there in the early 90's).

While this is rare, the Aurora Borealis can be seen as far south as Virginia and the Carolinas. In fact, on the night of December 14?, 1863, after the Battle of Fredericksburg, the soldiers on Marye's Heights and the soldiers laying the fields below (the living ones anyway) saw the Aurora.

Yeah I know you can see it in several places in the lower 48 but going to Alaska would be a cool trip I think. Especially if you were able to do one of the cruises and take on of the train rides. That would be awsome, but expensive.
