What was your first car?
Mine was a 1979 Fiat Spider, looked just like the one below but different rims and a cream color top. Well, actually my parents owned it and I drove it.
The first car I ever paid for was a 1994 Toyota Celica, like the one below but mine was silver.

a matchbox car that I totally destroyed with the help of my second car, another matchbox car, I repeatedly beat them together until they both broke and cried when mom wouldn't buy me a third car for another week :D

well, it WAS the 80's when I got my first car.. 1989, but still the 80's...
(in memory of Devorule)
unless of course, 1989 is actually more like the 90's.. in which case my car was really dated.

Man, I miss DevoRule. Anyway, I was saying it was 80s style more because it was a Datsun, than because of the year. ;D

A two-tone grey 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon. With a white nose and white trunk, with a red interior headliner that was constantly sagging. the rear quarter was pushed in and then pullled back out by cutting it and rewelding it, so it was all welds and rust. Looked like hell. Had a small block v-8 that took forever to move the beast, and brakes that couldn't stop it worth a damn either. I drove it on my father's repair plates.
I didn't own a car from the 1990s until 1998 when I bought a slightly used Chrysler Cirrus. Looks like it will most likely be the only car from the 90s I ever own, since I'll probably by a vehicle from the last year or two to replace it. All the other cars have been from the 70s and 80s. Aside from a handful of sportscars, i can't say there is any vehicle built in the past ten years that I would even want to part money on.

Says there in the ad that the Cutlass Salon was an efficiency machine. ::) Was it really good on fuel economy? ??? Some how I find that hard to believe.

my father owned a gas station, so I never paid for gas, so I can't remember.
I do remember the gas tank had a bad seem, and leaked gas if I put too much in it, so that certainly cut down on the mileage.

Well, I just started driving last year....so technically my first car was the 1992 Toyota Camry that my parents have had since it was brand new. I began driving it last summer, and it is currently the only car that I am insured to drive.

1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass.
It was basically a hand-me-down from my older sister, it was pretty much spent when I got it and the transmission went out about 8 months later.

My first ever car ?
A Buick Special, 1962 ! (Which I bought, in late 1974).
Well, it looked something like this:
http://www.buickbombsight.org/62bel2.jpg
Bought it secondhand (unsighted, through a buddy) .... for $150 !
It served me faithfully, and I managed to drive it from Chicago, through to Ontario, Canada, then back through New York State, and finally ...... on a close to 15 hour non-stop (?) stint .... can't recall .... just know it was a lot of hours ..... back to Chicago !

My dad used to have an '85 Sentra as well! We got it used, in November of 1986 and kept it until February 1992. It was a pretty good car; it ran well, for the most part. In October 1991, however, its transmission went out while my dad was driving me to school one day (the 22nd); and so I was 1 hour and 49 minutes late to school.

My first car was a brown ford escort, just like this.
http://www.classicperformanceford.com/Ford_Escort_Pop_F805GET/Ford_Escort_pop_index1.JPG
It was a nightmare from day one, I bought a lemon. It broke down everytime I drove it and nearly bankrupted me in garage bills. On investigation it tuned out to have been in a major accident and was written off then, but the guy I bought it off tarted it up and pretended it was fine. >:( I managed to get most of my money back on it. After that I shared my mum's car A yellow ford fiesta called Daffy!

Wasn;t that a first year car? I think 1979 was the first year for the "Phoenix" nameplate. It always dangerous to buy a car thats a new model or a car that is in its first year of a new bodystyle because of the first year bugs(i.e. mechanical problems.)

I don't know. I got it used from my step brother in 1987 and I never had any problems with it. It may have been a first year namplate, but it was a twin to the Chevy Nova and they had been around a while so maybe the bugs were worked out.

They still make Fiats now - not sure whether they do for the US market though. It lasted me a good few years anyway before it got totaled (not my fault).
As for punto pinche - apparently it's Mexican and a bit rude... ;D

To anyone who has ever worked or currently works as a Pizza Delivery Driver:
The 1979 Ford Fiesta is a perfect delivery vehicle!
Decent gas mileage, hatchback for quick removal & loading.....
As long as it has a good paint job, you'll be OK.
And! It helps reduce the amount of zits caused by working at a Pizza Parlor!
