Subject: U2: 80s, 90s, or 2000s band?
Written By: Full_House_Fan on 02/18/05 at 9:18 pm
I say Nineties. Even though they were successful and begun in the 80s I think they only had the New Wave sound so they could market better, and because they were influenced by it. They've sold well since they began really and won't die. I don't U2 though. They're okay but all their songs sound the same.

well, considering they weren't very good in the 90s and even now, i'd say theyre an 80s band. and honestly, i don't even like their 80s stuff all that much except for maybe sunday bloody sunday.

I voted 80's
I still enjoyed them in the 90's and currently. They change with the times, which is good.

80s, though I believe they formed in the late 70s.

In autumn 1976, drummer Larry Mullen put a note on the notice board at Mount Temple Comprehensive School in Dublin, looking for people to join a band. Four friends joined up: Paul Hewson (aka Bono Vox), Dave Evans (aka The Edge), Dik Evans, and Adam Clayton. Dik soon left to join the Virgin Prunes, while the remaining four formed 'Feedback' before changing to 'The Hype' and then settling on U2.
The band's first break came in 1978, winning £500 in a talent contest on St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) in Limerick. ;)

I agree...... I voted 80s. They were the BEST from when they started to thier 1983 concert in Denver -- After that they went downhill sadly......
Thier BEST songs are from 1979 to 1983

My favorite album was Achtung Baby. But I still consider them primarily an 80s band.

I feel they are more 80s. They disappeared in the 90s and made a comeback in the 2k.
