I am agreeing with you here Lebeiw. An interesting second option. I think Simpsons is incredibly funny but it's become so heavily institutionalised - it's become too much of a popular/safe thing to like LOL. I can't explain it . . . Oh well, never mind. ::)

My "other" is Eastenders. My little sister loves it and often says she would rather watch it than see a film with us or even come on holiday with us.

People get all weepy-eyed about how great M*A*S*H was, but I think it was the most overrated show ever. While it was funny in the ifrst few seasons (when it was primarily about the zany antics of the 4077th), once Alan Alda turned the show into a soapbox to push his liberal agenda it became really lame. I think the show "jumped the shark" when Trapper John left and was replaced by B.J. Hunnicutt, who was perhaps the most unfunny character to appear in a sitcom.

I love Lucy, The Andy Griffith Show, Friends, Seinfield, and Brady Bunch! NOT FUNNY! Why do people always say these shows are funny! Incredibly white-breaded without any true flavor. The jokes pure lame!

Oprah was a good show in the 80s and early 90s when she tackled hard-hitting topics. But, once she got on that empowering yourself (mostly housewives) and celebrity butt-kissing kick, it soared downhill!
The Real World was the best 90s reality show! Everything else pretty much sucks!
I never checked out the West Wing. Although, I'm a liberal, Mark! ;)
