But.. you can't miss out all the letters when you're trying to anagram..! That's just morally wrong.

Me, I dig anagramming. Playing Scrabble, I do it all the time. It kinda reminds me of the time I had the word NEGATOR laid out ready to put on the Scrabble board, but it wouldn't give me enough points to make the game safe. I'm not in that kind of risky mood. So instead, I play the word STONERAGS across two S's seven letters apart. How I dig playing nine-letter words. Woot.

One of my favourite anagrams is the following:

PRESIDENT CLINTON OF THE U.S.A = TO COPULATE HE FINDS INTERNS

Other anagrams which have won me Scrabble games:

KURSAAL    = RUSALKA
ASTONIES  = ASSIENTO
NUMERIC    = MINCEUR
CREMATION = MANTICORE

Another really nice one is TRICERATOPS --> TETRASPORIC. But undoubtably the best:

ELEVEN PLUS TWO --> TWELVE PLUS ONE.

To quote a fellow Scrabble player: "God put that one there. There is no other explanation".

My two favourite anagrams:

Tony Blair, MP = I'm Tory Plan B
and
Virginia Bottomley = I'm an evil tory bigot
...she's a Tory MP, if those of you who didn't know hadn't guessed

...staying on the politician theme, let's not forget that old 80s chestnut...

Nigel Lawson = We all sign on ('signing on' being a phrase for obtaining unemployment benefit - a popular pastime under Thatcherism...)

but my all-time favourite is me old mate...

Rick Astley = Tickly Arse

What deep dark secrets do anagrams release about British politicians?

"He is the ill menace"
"Tory Hannibal"
"Ah! odd SDP yawn"
"Lamented person"

Oooh, I almost forgot about that one myself, maddog. Well remembered. Along the same lines, how about:

RETROGRADELY
MACHIOLATES
ARRESTIVE
CORNWALLIS (as soon as you get this one, you'll know why I mentioned it!)
CANCERATION
INTERVIEWS

Also, "Best P.R. In Years"... a tabloid favourite, that line.
