I do and some of my boredom busters include watching TV, going to the gym, watching a film on video or DVD, playing computer games, surfing the net, shopping (Or window shopping if I'm short of cash), going somewhere interesting, reading books and magazines, listening to music and trying out new computer activities from some of my Usborne computer guides. I also like to go swimming during the holidays.

What do you people do if you're bored during the summer?

Normally I do, and I was during June, but this month I've quit procrastinating and attempted to sell advertisements for my school newspaper (we have to sell $160 during the summer, plus another $200 ($40 per six weeks) during the school year. It sucks majorly. A friend of mine and I are trying to convince the advisor and editor-in-chief to let those who haven't reached their summer quota hold a car wash to earn money and split it amongst those who volunteered. Not sure if that will work or not...hopefully it does.

I do sometimes but I keep busy using the internet,hanging out with friends and staying at home chilling out. ;)

I don't really feel a 'separation of summer' because I live in a tropical place to begin with and so the days all kind of blend together.

Please remind me. What is a summer holiday again? :-\\ I don't think i've had one of those in ages. Every year I plan a great vacation and in the end I end up working right through it :(

There's not much to do anyhow.Summers were meant to be quiet.That's until September rolls around and everything is back to being loud. ;D

My mum said she could always tell when I was bored in the summer holidays.  It's when I started to clean my bedroom  ;D

As I got older I would occasionally take on a project such as painting a room or hedge cutting etc. just to have a purpose for part of the holiday.  Of course now I'm working I wish I had 6 weeks off to hang around at home and get bored.

As kids we would go on the bus to Nottingham or Leicester for a look at the museums and things like that.  I bet there are some places near where you live Stompgal that you've never visited because they're near your house.

When I am on holiday, I like to be doing what I want so I rarely get bored. I find it more testing going somewhere else beyond the house for a holiday because I feel less relaxed and tied to doing whatever that holiday entails.

I don't have much time to get bored in the summer. I go to work, then when I get home I'm usually driving my teenager to do her fun summer stuff with her friends. But not for much longer!! She'll be getting her license soon!! Yay! ;D

As a matter of fact, I do get bored during the summer holidays. When I can't find anything good to do, sometimes I go online and hang out here at the messageboard. If I don't wanna do anything that uses a lot of electricity, I'll play a game, like chinese checkers or solitaire.

On the other hand, there are a few important things that I must do before I go back to school, like figure out what classes I'm gonna be taking. See, I had to register for classes back in June so I could get myself in the system and be officially "enrolled." I signed up for a temporary set of classes (most of which I will probably drop), but I only have 12 days to figure out something that I'm gonna stick with. :o

Nobody's allowed to be bored in our house.  If you are - you go to the corkboard and there is a list of jobs to be done.  I just tell them I'm Chairman of the Bored so they have to go through me to be bored!

I ready 7 books and went to Disney World.

I went for a 7-mile hike I got so bored. We were going to have a nice walk round a lake but we had to walk there first.

*puff pant puff pant* "Okay... we've walked all the way to the lake."
"Good. What'll we do now?"
"Walk."
"Oh."
"Did you bring the picnic?"
"No."

And I made my famous capsaicin-filled food: Hairy Ginger Biscuits (because they have so much mashed ginger in they're all hairy with ginger fibres) and Wrath of Satan Chilli. If anyone wants the recipes for either, they can PM me.

I don't get bored easily, I love doing nothing.  But either go to the gym or hang out at the beach. 

Karen, this has nothing to do with this thread but do you live near Leicester Castle?  A few years ago while vacationing or holiday'ing in the uk a friend and I took a tour of the Castle and we saw the Duke of Rutland walking around in his slippers and jammies chatting or chilling with all the tourists who were touring his home/castle.  I thought it was pretty cool!  Real nice guy.    Sad to say I think the Duke passed on a few years ago.

Well during the summer, I don't get to see all of my friends and some of the ladies I enjoy looking at.  :( Yeah, you could qualify me for getting bored during the summer, but it's not that bad since I live on the lake.

Do you mean Belvoir Castle (pronounced Beaver)?  That's where the Duke of Rutland lives.  The previous one was quite known for just chatting with the visitors and stuff.  It's about half an hours drive away from my town.
