Well, madonna has announced that she no longer whats to be known as Madonna.

Instead, she wants to be known as Esther, apparently a biblical figure who saved the Jewish people from destruction.

This is one publicity stunt that is surely going to backfire on her. If it doesn't work, what is she going to call herself next? She'll end up doing Hinduism and calling herself Vishnu! Prince changed his name because of a legal dispute with his former record label Warner Bros., who actually owned the name "Prince". That meant that if he released anything under the name Prince on any other label, Warner Bros. would be legally entitled to collect royalties from it. He changed his name to stop that from happening. I believe it's been sorted now though, because he's calling himself Prince again these days.

It is my opinion she's just run out of ways to get attention from the media and is reaching. I don't think her attention-grabbing schemes will work for her anymore. Most people who don't already dislike her are growing tired of her at this juncture.

I had a nightmare about Madonna once. The year was 2038, and I was hanging out with some of my friends in a retirement home. We were watching some talk show, and the audience was full of old men wearing backwards baseball caps and "No Fear" or "West Coast Choppers" T-shirts, and they all had faded barbed-wire tattoos on their atrophied biceps. Suddenly a 70-something Madonna came out in a blond wig and a leather corset and began to lip-sync "Like A Virgin" and started gyrating and thrusting her hips and rubbing her bony, wrinkled-up body (complete with liver spots and varicose veins), and all the old men in the audience were pumping their fists and going, "Woo! Woo! Woo!" It was disgusting. One of my friends then turned to me and said, "I wish that b*tch would just die already."

I guess she really thinks that there are still people in this world who cares??

And I've yet to see or hear anything about her changing her name. It wasn't mentioned in the interview on Dateline the other night.

When I heard this, the first thing that came into my head was Esther Rantzen. Is Madge now going to start presenting weird talk shows?

Besides, so many people have heard of Madonna that the name change is going to take some getting used to. People will still be going into record shops asking for Madonna's album.

I found "Gunsel", which means "A young goose. Also used to describe a young man who accompanies a tramp or a young tramp. "
She could always drop the "Young" and just call herself "Tramp"....like the dog from My Three Sons :)
