I drove 120 miles into Chicago to pick up a friend at the airport.  She came in to help her brother who has cancer and is getting HEAVY DUTY radiation and chemo treatment at the same time.

The doctors told her that her brother is getting absolutely the highest-intensity cancer treatment ever developed.  :-\\

Today I got the train to work. I will probably catch it home again also. Trains are hard to catch. If you don't get them just right, they can kill you.

I might be going on another date soon thru this Friendship Network where your goal is to maintain a friendship(guy OR girl) then move on up to better things after. It will be a girl,non smoker,Jewish late 20's maybe early 30's.We'll just see what happens. :)

I'm ready to put the "big white floopy thing" oh sails up.  The boat is in the water, the mast is up, and the wind has been fresh.  So abasty me matties (mostly Cat), haul the yards, raise the anchor, cast off, and make sail.  Meanwhile, I'll have a dram of rum ration and sit at the tiller.  Up the jolly roger!!!

Okay, so I'm reading the local newspaper and there's an article "Roadside Checks Tonight on I-88" "Illinois State Police will conduct a roadside safety check on Interstate 88 tonight near Route 31 in North Aurora.  Police will be on the scene between 9 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday...".  Why do they announce it beforehand?  Wouldn't it make more sense to keep it a secret so those people who KNOW they are violating a law won't purposely avoid it?

I always think the same thing. Here they put up those big flashing signs on the highways where they are going to be doing a speed crackdown or a roadside safety check. Do they not realize that people will be on their best behavior after they read that sign. Like you are gonna go flying through there when you know that police are present! I think not!!!!

The Library in which I volunteer for said she doesn't need me for The Summer cause it'll be a slow one after starting July 4th so She said to come back September the 1st.What should I do for the meantime in the next 8 weeks?  :-\\

Here are some ideas...

- Try another library in the area if there is one close enuf ?

- Are there any Senior Centers that could use a young guy like you to just talk with seniors ?

- Salvation Army or Soup Kitchen probably needs people to help out with meals and what-not ?

- How about your synagogue?  Do they need an extra hand ?

- Are there any "literacy centers" that could use someone like you to help someone learn to read?

- Join a program to visit shut-ins or to be a "buddy" for a lonely senior citizen?  Seniors ALWAYS need someone to run errands.

Above are just some ideas off the top of my head.

I got my letter from My Friendship Network today and gave the names and phone numbers of girls or one of the girls I should contact for a meeting place. I can call one of them.And it said on the bottom of the letter that I should call Friendship Network after each meeting and then discuss another one right after.I'm so darn nervous,I might have to go the bathroom. :-\\

Personally, if you can find one, I'd suggest a senior center or nursing home.  Most of those people are so lonely, they'd be happy to have anyone show an interest.  AND, you can actually learn alot from them.
