Subject: Music Discrimination

Recently on my local Oldies station, they werer talking about artists that never got the honors and named several artists that didn't deserve the "Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame". Like Elvis Costello & James Taylor. Tough I don't listen to James Taylor, but Elvis Costello is a musical genious.
And a few months ago at an alternative station, I heard a mean joke about Joe Strummer being dead & Jon Bon Jovi being alive.
And said the Cocteau Twin's version of "The Lion Sleep Tonight" is much cooler than than the original. IMO, both were great. I bet a hip hop station would say that Beyonce's version of something is better than the original song. :P
Where's the respect? I don't like country, but I would never diss it if I were a DJ.
