Subject: Wrong facts from tv shows/specials
Based on the "Lies Your Teacher Told You" thread & the "Goofs" links from TV TOME.
On Paula Abdul's "E! True Hollywood Story", they stated that she was on "The Muppet Show", which was incorrect. She actually appeared on "Muppets Tonight".
And on "MTV 25 Lame", they stated that MC Hammer was from Harlem, but he's actaully from San Francisco. And made a bad joke about a Debbie Gibson video that looked like "Grease", but she's actaully a Broadway actress in real life. Finally, they said that the Eddie Murphy/Michael Jackson video was from 1986. That video was actually made in 1993.
On "VH1 I Love the '80's: I Love 1987", "Addicted To Love" (Robert Palmer) was mentioned, but the song/video was a hit in 1986.
Any errors from any tv show/special that you know of?

Any of those "biography" shows that say wrestling "died" sometime in the 60's and didn't "re-emerge" until the 1984 WWF push. Try telling that to us WTBS wrestling fans who remember the Freebirds, Junkyard Dog, Dusty Rhodes, Tommy "Wildfire" Rich, Jimmy Valiant, Mr. Saito .... not to mention all the other great wrestlers of the 60's-80's!
Wrestling certainly was NOT "dead".

I remember watching a (I think) History Channel show on past presidential races with my parents. Dewey (of "Dewey beats Truman") was one of my relatives. I've never seen my dad get so upset at a TV show. I guess there were alot of discrepancies in that one.

Nearly forgot, the VH1 "100 Greatest One Hit Wonders" special.
Many 2 or 3 hit wonders were mentioned.
The other countdowns are mainly based on opinion.

I was once watching a kids show on PBS called "Patriot Kids" (I think) about these kids who lived during the Am. Revolution. They had a native-American from the Wappinger tribe. They kept pronoucing it WRONG!!!! I am orginally from a town called Wappingers Falls-named after the tribe, so I know how it should be pronounced. The pronouced the "g" as in "burger" instead like "range" as it SHOULD be. DROVE ME UP THE WALL! No one else would have realized the mistake unless they grew up there like I did.

I was watching an episode of "Who's Line Is It Anyway" and Wayne Brady put on a girl's hat, and said "Hey everybody! I'm Blossom, and it's 1987!" The "Blossom" sitcom did not come on the air until the early 1990's. I know this is nitpicking by 4-5 years, but it is still innacurate. I know... I watch way too much tv! :-[LOL! Thanks for the memories! Sincerely,Steve.

On the episode of "Full House" where they make a game show called "The Perfect Couple", that's where Danny and Vicky officially break up. Anyway, in the last scene, Danny says: "The Giants won the World Series." That's not right at all; the Blue Jays won it that year (1993), defeating the Phillies. In fact, the Giants didn't even make the playoffs that year.
