Does it cause emotional distress? How long are Meds required for it,
Remember that episode of The Simpson where Bart is diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, and it caused criminal behaviror.
Is it a chronic condition,
Does it cause sadness like OCD or Depression or Bipolar Disorder.

My son has ADHD and has been on meds since he was 8 (he's now 15). When he doesn't take his meds, he's belligerent, unfocused, flighty, moody and disruptive and his school work really suffers. We have him on meds only during the school day so we get the brunt of his moodiness at home. Some days he's up, some days he's down. Not sure if it's all related to his ADHD or not. He's in therapy and this seems to be helping him learn how to exert some self-control. We really wrestled with medicating him at first. But I think it was the best thing for him. He really can't just sit down, sit still and do his work with out help. Sad, but true.
