Subject: Stephen King
Favorite book(s) by him?
Favorite is Misery... just starting Desperation tonight..
Subject: Re: Stephen King
hmmmmm...that's a hard question...I love alot of his work but I guess I would have to say it's a tie between Misery and Pet Semetary.
Subject: Re: Stephen King
I love most of his books but The Stand is the best...followed closely by Bag of Bones.
Subject: Re: Stephen King
It followed by Ths Stand, the uncut version. I own every one of his books in hardcover, and they are a PITA to move! ;D

Since I was an English major in college, we had to do a Critical Casebook in my Literary Criticism course. Naturally I chose Stephen King. I totally dissected Misery. It's really a deep novel if you get into all the symbolism. But, I'm not the typical critic. I like to read stories for stories. I don't like to totally deconstruct them. Having said that, my favorite would have to be Eyes of the Dragon. Followed by The Stand, the Gunslinger series and Misery. I also liked Needful Things.

The Stand, The Gunslinger Series (I'm rereading I - IV because I got Wolves of the Calla for Christmas), It and Insomnia.
In fact, with the exception of Dreamcatcher, I've enjoyed (and then enjoyed again) every single one of his books.
Subject: Re: Stephen King
Different Seasons is also one of my favorites as it was the first Stephen King book I ever read. In fact, I've read my copy so much that the pages are falling out. :'(
Subject: Re: Stephen King
The Dark Half and The Gunslinger Series.

I could never get into Hearts in Atlantis. I tried both reading and books on tape and it bored me to tears. I hate to say that about Stephen King but I have to.
Also, I had forgotten about Insomnia. That is a great book, too. The Stand is still at the top of my list.

I am with you both on this one. Couldn't finish Hearts in Atlantis and The Stand is my favorite too.
