Angels

God sent an angel,
She was my comfort in the rain,
She gave me safety,
And then she gave me pain,
I don’t understand this,
I don’t see why he gave me you,
I sure don’t disserve this,
But there is nothing I can do,

God sent me mercy,
Embodied in two graceful wings,
I wasn’t worthy,
That’s why she took away my dreams,
I don’t understand this,
Tell me why I lost it all,
I guess I disserved it,
When they beat me down, and made me fall.

All my life I’ve dreamed of angels,
And then she came my way,
I don’t know too many angels,
But since when do they fly away
All my life I’ve dreamed of angels,
As deliverers of grace,
But tell me why my only angel,
Took the time to fly away.

i think that's pretty good... it's a bit depressing but i don't think you were trying to write something uplifting.  Is it just a poem or are you going to try to make it into a song?

It sounds like the kind of depressing stuff I used to write sometimes during my teenage years. Some of the stuff stemmed from personal experience and some from other sources of inspiration. It was a phase and it passed. These things always do.

I dont know, I just write what I write, but this is in the process of becoming a song, but its basically about my gf, and how one day she just called it quits.
