sprinkling on rice pudding when you've run out of nutmeg (well it looks the same)
sprinkling on the floor to absorb any oil spilt during your car oil change (sorry forgot - you've only got toy cars)
stir some into cheap whisky to get a genuine peaty taste

I don't have a green thumb, but my late mom used to love planting her flower bed in the front yard. And I can't even find one good use for peat moss, because I prefer nature's dirt and water.
