If my calculations are correct, this should be my 500th post and I can preen myself in the feathers of a Royal Penguin, at last. Which is just as well because I never knew what a "Gentoos" penguin was anyway.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank, Oscars style, all of you who've put up with me since January, when I stumbled across this board while searching for lyrics to an obscure UK hit from the early 1980s ("John Wayne Is Big Leggy" by Haysi Fantazee, if you must know).
I'd also like to thank everyone for the chances I've had to enter discussions on a wide variety of topics, from the creation of the Universe to the relative merits of RoboCop and Mad Max, from the current (parlous) state of the WWF/WWE to the unlikely places that Australian rugby league players stick their fingers (thanks to Mike Florio for that one, the biggest laugh I've had for months). And of course my fellow stalwarts on the Quiz board, where I can indulge what my wife calls my strange obsession for pop trivia with like minded souls without shame.
In celebration of this landmark I'm really going to try and get round to posting a picture of myself on one of the photo threads, so you can all have a good laugh at what a maddog really looks like. And can anyone tell me how to get those avatar things working?

eek I'm still a Gentoos penguin after all, is there really some other form of secret initiation I have to pass as well, like the Freemasons ???

I don't know much about penguins, but chinstrap reminds me of jock strap. The only kind of penguin i've heard about is the jackass penguin, I have a picture of one.

The thing that really cracked me up was the thought of some macho Australian rugby player standing up in a press conference saying, in all seriousness, "I know the difference between a wedgie and a finger up my ****!".
