Subject: Summer Camp
Did you ever go to summer camp? If so, share some of your stories. I never went. All my siblings got to go but not me. I was a deprived child. :'(

wow, like 10 years ago, I went to a summer camp, not a sleep over one, but just like a place where kids my age, 4-8 would go and spend their day from like 10am-3pm. It was alright, my brother went also. I remember like the most fun thing to happon was to go in the sprinklers, and they'd set up sprinklers for us to play in. But kids would get in trouble for it if they like set the sprinkler to hit someone. So one time, my and like 6 friends went into the sprinklers, and for the first time, right in front of the sprinkler lady, I played with the head of it, and intentionally got her to take it away. I dont know why. Then we went to the next one, and I did the same thing. And then one more, and I finally got in trouble instead of the sprinkler just being taken away. I dont know why I did it, I guess I thought I was funny...

My first year at boy scout camp I tripped over a root and ripped up my knee. Spent most of the time in the infermery with 6 or 7 stitches in it.
The next year I became the best conoeist in camp. There was a girl scout camp across the lake, and after dinner we had free access to the conoes. Mine was always beached on the other side, or at the far end of the lake, with a "passenger" ;) Aah, those were the days. My mis-spent youth ;) ;)

I had the best time in camp as a kid. It was a camp where we did so many cool things. We had biologists from universities come and lead us on nature walks and tell us about trees, plants, birds, just about everything there was. Then we got to swim in a huge lake. At night we would play games like campture the flag. I think the best part was when we ventured out of the cabins to camp in tents at fire sites. We would roast marshmellows and tell ghost stories, trying to scare each other. By the time bedtime came we were all sure there was a bear or some large animal just behind the treeline, just out of sight.. It was the best time. I only got to stay for one week though.

I did twice but not this year, though I may go back next year...

I've gone to church camp every summer since I was 8. I was a counselor this year, but sadly, I think this would be the last year our camp will even exist. Things are just falling apart. :-/
Well anyway my favorite memories are the little skits the guys always did: The last couple years they've had to had "cleansing" ceremonies for their "sacred" poolball. And I liked it the one year they did a camp motto like the waterboy: "One life to live, one life to give. YOU CAN DO IT! All life long!" :D

I went to this christian camp, and I didn't even believe in god, so it didn't really make sense. Since it was christian camp they didn't have any meat, everything was veggie meat! They fed us fake hot dogs, fake cheeseburgers and fake bacon! When I got back home, I was dying for some real meat!!

Since you wrote that, I went to find out for sure what the camp was, and my mom told me it was an adventist church camp. Weird, a camp that's ran by a bunch of vegetarians!!
