I hate to ruin your show, but it is a fake Styx, too. Styx just isn't right without Dennis DeYoung. The new lead singer for Journey sounds alot like Steve Perry, though.
Let us know how the concert was...it should be great.

A fake Styx? Just b/c they have a new singer/keyboardist? Have you heard the new album? It absolutely kicks!! Do you consider everything from Back in Black onward to be fake AC/DC as well? If every band busted when a member left who would we have had? Certainly no Stones or Beatles. I know for some it doesn't seem the same without their faves but give it a chance!! I personally think the new Styx kicks...and I never was a Larry Gowan fan when he was big here in the 80s...but he suits Styx and their musical style and sound and that is more than evident on the new stuff.
;D ;D

Actually I do consider the new AC/DC fake...kidding. ;D I haven't heard the new styx album yet. I know I should, but it doesn't seem right without Dennis. Yes, I am stubborn. ;)

WOW!
Styx opened and tore through a great 95 minute set! Tommy sang Blue Collar Man, Renegade & Too Much Time On My Hands....J.Y. belted out Miss America, and the new keyboard guy sounded wonderful. He sang Come Sail Away, Foolin' Yourself and Babe.....They also played 2 songs from thier new CD...Both were very good! Styx gets a 10 out of 10 from me :D
Next.....NOW I understand why, if you wanted to avoid R.E.O., you couldn't....They started off with thier 3 biggest hits....Keep On Lovin' You, Can't Fight This Feeling and one for the Colorado Folks....Ridin' The Storm Out, but the rest of thier LONG nearly 2 hour set blew chunks...Kevin Cronin "Talked" WAY too much. I'd give them a 4 ::)
Now to the new Journey....while I went in thinking they'd suck without S. Perry, they actually were tight and played great. Though the new lead singer sounded a lot like the guy he replaced, you could definately tell the difference....After opening with Separate Ways they followed with Chain Reaction and Lights...then Neil Shon showed why he deserved a spot with Carlos Santana at the tender age of 15...he blew threw the Star Spangled Banner (Ala Jimmi Hendrix) then moved through Don't Stop Believin'....they then played Open Arms and a couple new ones before we left....beat the traffic and got back to Colorado Springs around Midnight. Next up: Heart in June and then Boston in July...at Redrocks!
