Subject: A very lucky klutz, I am....
They say that 90% of all accidents occur inside the home...
"They" are right.
Yesterday morning, while I was stepping into the shower, I slipped and fell. I cracked my head right behind my left ear.
I started feeling dizzy, so I ended up going to the hospital for x-rays and/or a CAT scan.
Lucky me...nothing fractured and no concussion. But manoman do I have a headache.
I bruised the muscle behind my ear, which partly controls my ability to turn my head. It also connects with the muscles controlling my jaw. I can't turn my head to one side.
People, please let me stand as the example. Be CAREFUL!

OH XenaKat....That sucks!! I can attest to how much it hurts to fall in the shower. I did it last year and hit the back of my head...After that I understood the phrase "I saw stars"! I hope that your headache and other pains don't last too long...I hope that you got good drugs in the ER!

Wow, Xenacat, glad you are ok. Head bumps are scary things I am glad you are smart enough to have it checked out. :)

That is pretty scary. Several years ago, I was visiting my sister and took a bath. I must have made the water too hot and stayed in too long. When I got out, I kept blacking out. I tried to make it to the couch but I blacked out again and came down and hit my head on her entertainment center (on my eyebrow). I started bleeding a lot. I got to couch but I was so afraid to get blood on her couch so I got up again to get a tissue. Again, I kept blacking out. I finally woke up my sister. By that time, I guess my blood sugar (or whatever it was) came back up-but I had a nasty cut on my eyebrow. To this day, the hair never grew back in that spot.

So they did a CT scan and it didn't show anything, huh? ;) ;D
(An old "baseball" analogy. "Dizzy" Dean got beaned once and was quoted as saying "They x-rayed my head and couldn't find anything.")
J/K! I'm with Fussy, except I'd say "Take two, they're small." Hope that noggin' quits hurtin'.

As they say in England I think you need to take more water with it !! ;D ;D Glad to hear you are feeling ok.

I guess that if 90% of accidents occure in the house, we all should stop hanging out there. How many accidents happen in your neighborhood pub? Maybe THAT's where we should stay. ;) ;) ;)
Glad to hear that your accident wasn't serious. Headachs we can get over, which is why I joked. Concussions and fractures are a bit more serious. :'(

I managed to get an ameoba shaped bump on my head last week from walking into a door. So THAT'S what the knob's for...
