1980s - Frozen Yogurt, Punk Rock
1990s DNA Testing, Remote Conrol Everything
2000s (so far) - Full Body Medical Scans, Reality TV ::)

1920s - Silent films take off, flappers, Art Deco, stock market boom, Fascism takes off, Communism takes off.
1930s - The Great Depression, talkies, peak of streamlined designs, Steinbeck, beginning of more turmoil from the last time...
1940s - WWII, Holocaust, atomic bomb, the end of Fascism.
1950s - Cold War begins, Eisenhower, Korean War, Red Scare, Rock 'n Roll, Jackson Pollock (YUCK!), The Beats.
1960s - The British Invasion, Mods, Viet Nam War, Cuban Missile crisis, bomb shelters.

What I think of when I think of these decades:
1910s - long dresses and high collars on women, streetcars
1920s - early films, "flappers", prohibition and the rise of the Mob
1930s - The Great Depression, The Three Stooges
1940s - WWII, the murder of well over 6 million innocent civilians, and the beginning of the Atomic age
1950s - greasy hair, Elvis, and the first street gangs
1960s - The Beatles, the rise of the drug culture, the Civil Rights movement, and the beginning of the Vietnam war
1970s - hippies, disco, "free love", ugly clothes, the rise of feminism and the concept of "equal rights".
1980s - Awesome music, androgyny, AIDS, neon colors, MTV, and cool music videos
1990s -PC's become common, as does the internet. Music goes bad
2000s -DNA evidence is common, terrorists run rampant world wide, the world becomes a smaller place, culturally.
