Subject: 1st Annual Messageboard Academy Awards--Noms!
Before we bust out the First Annual Messageboard Academy Awards, we need some categories and nominations :) Anyone interested can post here or direct your suggestions at the Princess of Ceremonies, Princessofpop :D
We'll take nominations for the week or so leading up to the Oscars, and then rock out with a big party in Playful Penguin Place with your favorite emcee, DJ Midas, to celebrate the winners :)
It's up to you whether you want to do this by open vote, private message voting to the Princess of Ceremonies, OR if you want to form a committee of Penguin affairs for this. Please don't hesitate to give input :)
Ready? Go!
PS: Dear Hairspray, if you feel this should be moved to the Games, feel free to do so :)

As for any of the parody categories, I am not that familiar with them so, maybe someone else can pick those?
And as for the lifetime award, and any other specialties, I thought we could vote on those as well.
Subject: Re: 1st Annual Messageboard Academy Awards--Noms!
I believe we should also give ThunderVamp9 a special achievement award for outstanding internet radio show. Who seconds the motion? :)

Most definitely, Rice Cube!

I'm game! TV9 definitely deserves the Vanguard award!
How 'bout a pre-awards show so we can comment on penguins' virtual fashion? :D

"Most knowledgable" should be reconsidered because of sensitivity issues, as well.
It's fair to say we're all most knowledgable in different areas. :)
Other categories that came to mind:
Most Active Newbie
Most Modified ;D
Most Political
Best Before The 70's Representative
Best 70's Rep.
Best 80's Rep.
Best 90's Rep.
Best 2000's Rep.

I also think regular participation should be required to be considered for the awards.
I also think it should be 1 award per member elected. That way, everyone has a chance to be chosen. ;)
Geez, I just went all-out in thoughts, didn't I?! ;D

I don't think most parody authors stop-in to the forums very much.
Ah well. We'll concentrate on those that do then. :)

We should probably do the nominating threads in the games board.
Your idea sounds like the way to go POP.
Subject: Re: 1st Annual Messageboard Academy Awards--Noms!
How about we set the deadline for all categories for Friday, then start threads in the games board for similar categories? I think having an individual thread for every category would get really confusing and hard to track.

I don't think so Rice. I think they way you have them grouped together like that is good. It will be easier to tally votes like that.

Yeah, I was wondering about that. What if each thread hits five pages before members in other time zones have a chance to log in at all?
Say Princess starts the threads at 6am Eastern time USA. Those of us that are able to log in early do so, but the threads hit five pages at around 2pm Eastern time.
We have a lot of active members in Australia and the UK, who may not be able to get here at that time of day/night.
Why not watch the time stamp instead, and lock it after 24 hours?

Vote for me ! I'm wonderful I love everyone especially children and animals. If I win this award I want to use the resulting fame to do good deeds for my fellow human beings throughout the world.I'll have lots of pictures taken of me cuddling said children and animals whilst looking like the caring and compassionate person that I am,without actually getting my clothes or hair messd up or my hands dirty. I'll never actually donate a penny of the vast piles of cash I'll make from all my public appearances but so what? I'm so great it doesn't matter !
Hey I'm still the down to earth girl next door as long as there's everything I demand in my dressing room and my adoring public don't actually come more than 10 feet near me at any given time.
As I said I'm just such a beautiful, talented, extraodinarily wonderful person how can I not win?? Oh did I say how modest I am too..........
