Most of you "old-timers" on the board were so nice and thoughtful when my grandfather passed away Christmas 2001.  I lost my grandmother this morning.  Her colon cancer, that was found 3 months after grandpa died, finally took over her whole body.  She was in so much pain last night and early this morning, so I'm glad she doesn't have to suffer anymore.  I will miss her terribly.  My mom is a wreck.

I was calling family & friends earlier and had this knawing feeling I was forgetting to call someone.  Then it hit me, YOU!  I hadn't let my friends here know.  You guys are an important part of my day and I wanted to let you know.

No responses necessary.  Just call/visit your grandparents and tell them you're thinking of them.  Then hug your parents.

I haven't had the tragedy of losing a family member yet...but I sympathize nonetheless, because I know that it is a difficult thing to go through, seeing what my friends have had to experience.  Best of wishes to you and yours.

I am so sorry for you & your family's loss.  I have lost two grandparents & I know how hard it can be.  Be strong for your mom & tell her you love her often.  We are all here for you!

I'm sorry to hear about your loss.  I lost all of my grandparents to cancer, so I can't go spend time with them, but they are the reason I am a team captain for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life my town has every year.

I'm sure you'll be giving your mom lots of love and support, she's going to be very sad for a while.

:( i'm sorry cs...i don't even remember my grandfathers (they died when i was one and three), but i remember how tough it was when my grandmother died a few years ago.  things will get better for you and your family in time.

I don't have any grandparents anymore so I will send my hug to them to you virtually..**hugs**.  You are in my prayers.

cs....big hugs to you and your family...I went thru something similar with my grandmother years ago and we felt the same way with her passing.....while it was very sad, atleast she finally found peace.  And remember your Grandmother is now with your Grandfather and they are back together tonite

My neighbor passed away On Friday Morning from lymphoma cancer at age 70.His doctor told him he'd have a week to live and he was right.He was a good neighbor we knew him for almost 25 years. :'(

cs, I'm sorry to hear of your loss.  :'(  I never knew either of my grandfathers, and both my grandmothers died when I was very young.

I know you must be very sad at her passing, but try to reflect on the good times you had together with her.

So sorry cs. Grandmas are tough to lose. Mine passed away years ago when I was 18 but I still miss her terribly.
I'll hold your hand in spirit Thursday morning if you'll hold mine. I am going to the funeral of a 10 month old triplet. :'( I'm really not looking forward to it but all of the trip Mom's in our group are pretty tight. Life really throws us some curves now and then. :-/

I'm sorry too CS.It's never easy, my Grandma in Germany died in november too.I sat down and thought about all the memories I had of her and wrote them down for my Mum and then we talked a whole afternoon.There were things that she had forgotten and vice a versa,it was a happy though occasionally sad afternoon but we found it helped.I'm thinking of you.
