Here's a site that everyone should read, especially those who post on the current affairs threads. ::)
It describes many of the common fallacies made when people discuss politics, religion, etc.
Read it, then go check a political debate and see how many you can spot!

I like the Hitch-Hikers Guide project, set up by DNA before he died (I've just re-read that... I mean, of course it was before he died, duh) www.h2g2.net
For a more cerebral site, the Meme Machine http://mwillett.org/index.htm
Neither of them particularly funny, though h2g2 has its moments (it's HUGE, though, so you'll find something of interest somewhere)

Check out the symbol for every multiple of 9 -which is what you'll always get
a 2-digit number can be represented as
10a + b
..what you are doing is taking a+b from 10a+b leaving
9a
i.e. it will always be a multiple of 9 - every multiple of 9 in the chart has the same symbol. It's not that clever, really.

Pay attention to the symbols beside the numbers after each guess. You'll see that they change.

Is there any way at all to trick it? That would be cool. ;D
Subject: Re: Websites To Share
Having gone through a crapload of math helped figure out what the trick was on the second try when they changed the symbol. It's impossible to cheat since they're one step ahead of the player by swithing the little icon. It's pretty nifty for non-math types and fairly unimpressive for the those who are. I actually find it difficult to see how people cannot figure it out on the second attempt ??? But then, I'm not good at those magic eye thingies and others wonder how I cannot see the hidden picture :P
