French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin was applauded at the Security Council after he spoke out against U.S. war plans Friday. They've taken their own precautions against al-Qa'ida. To prepare for terrorist attack, each Frenchman is urged to keep duct tape, a white flag, and a three-day supply of mistresses around the house.

This is today's joke at jokeaday.com…

When advised that France had announced it would not assist, become allied with or otherwise support the US in any war on Iraq, former US Presidential candidate Ross Perot reportedly said: "Having to go to war without France is sorta like having to go deer hunting without an accordion".

Going to war without any kind of global support is like beating a bee hive with a baseball bat.

Going to war without any kind of global support is like going to the freshman mixer with an M-16.

Going to war without any kind of global support is like punching a little kid in the face because his father beats him.

Going to war without any kind of global support is like throwing eggs at cars. It doesn't get you anything except a lot of angry people.

Going to war without U.N. support is like giving the lethal injection to a man who the judge has not passed sentence on yet.

Tee hee!

I was about to say "when did the Belgians ever invade France", but they were on our side at Waterloo... the Italians?  I guess they were part of the occupying force in WW2... the Swiss?  But I guess they're not really part of Europe, kind of a little land-locked island in the middle.
