Subject: What everyone's talking about these days?

Written By: jamminoldies on 02/16/03 at 04:59 p.m.

It seems like everywhere I go,people are talking about new gadgets. And,it's funny that everyone is trying to keep up the new age of technology. This is what I hear:

*Cell Phones(Now isn't that obvious?) ::)
*MP3 Players that kids strap on to their pants buckle.
*portable audio
*Computers(i.e.different names of em')
*Nintendo(i.e.Gamecube and X-Box)
*Pocket PC's and entertainment organizers.

And to think that 20 years ago,We were talking about:

*Apple Computers
*Pac-Man GameWatches
*Atari Systems
*Collecovision
*Arcades
*2-XL

Boy,How times have changed ;D

My wife asked me if anyone carries pagers anymore. It used to be (and not that very long ago) you would ask for someones or hand out your pager number. Now it's just "here's my cell number"

Personally I love technology. I can see my Grandson growing up on my computer and he lives hundreds of miles away.

I can download and learn songs for my shows in a matter of minutes.

I can send messages to my friends overseas on their cellphones instantly and not have it cost me an arm and a leg.

I can chat online with friends, see them via webcam and hear them via voice-chat, in real time, like we were sitting in the same room....and they live in other countries....

Technology is amazing Howard. Don't knock it. Embrace it and enjoy what it has to offer.

Hey John,I could see you're much older than me when I saw the word "Grandson" in your message.Do you remember having an Atari system? Those were the days when those stores sold an Atari game for $20.00 or less.I'm just saying technology is moving too quickly.I have a friend who refuses to give up his Atari and he has a whole mess of games from yesteryear and I play em' once in a while when I come to visit him.  ;)
