I went to the Tragically Hip show in October, and before the show I was having a beer outside the venue. Thats when I ran into Paul Langlois (guitarist for The Hip), I asked if he cared for a beer before the show and he declined, but I was able to bum a smoke off him (I only smoke one or two cigs when I have a couple of beers). I know he's not a celebrity in the states, but The Hip are very big here in Canada.

Tragically Hip is a great band, I used to hear them on a local station when I lived in Bellingham, WA., closer to your boarder.
I grew up with Dave Krusan who was the original drummer for Pearl Jam, he wasn't famous then but he was a great drummer!  To bad he got into drugs and was booted after the release of 10.  He's played in some other pretty good bands since and I've heard he cleaned up quite awhile ago.

Somewhere on another thread there is a long list of who everyone has met.  Cant remember which one !
I was having a dry celeb free 2 month spell (ie since I shared fondue with Chris Isaak in December) until last Saturday night when I had the opportunity to go backstage and meet Ray Charles and Wilson Pickett (who had lost his voice!!).

Ray was extremely cool.  I had a strange urge to come home and watch the Blues Brothers !! Wilson was a bit "I'm a legend and dont forget it" kinda - but Ray was more "I cant believe 14,000 people stayed up this late to see me".  Very humble and polite and asked me lots of questions about the crowd - as he couldnt see them - he wanted to know the age range etc.
Bob Dylan walked up to us but..... well...... i'll admit it - I basically snubbed him.  I have never ever liked him and he had banned all the crowd and even the press from taking photos of him up on stage and back stage - and basically everywhere - how precocious !! - while the other 15 acts really didnt care one way or the other.

I am chasing up the TV reporter who took my photo with Ray and filmed us chatting - as he disapeared without leaving his name !!

Marilyn Manson and his band came into the pub my friends and I were drinking at one night. It was very late and we were the only ones in there, so we just took over the place and hung out with them until first light. It was cool. MM was a bit distant, but the rest of the band were great.

I have met so many of them. My mother (and then myself) worked in the theatre. Some of the most memorable were meeting Pat O'Brian (the old time actor, not the sports guy). I met him when I was 7 or 8 and he sang to me. Also when I met Davy Jones of the Monkees. He was suposed to come to our house for a cast party but never did make it. I wanted to be able to tell everyone that Davy Jones came to my house. (Just call me "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia. lol  ;)) Actually, Mary Jo Catlett who played the maid on Differant Strokes came to that same party. I also worked with James Handy who has been on just about every show from Quantum Leap to the West Wing. He was also in many movies like K9 and Taps. He was truely a very nice guy. I wonder if he still remembers me. There were many others.

DeForest Kelley made an appearance at a Star Trek convention in San Francisco I attended way back in 1985.
Handed him picture of himself as "Bones" and mumbled something like "Glad to meet you, Mr. Kelley...".  He signed it and handed it back.  I stepped out-of-way for next Trekkie.

I met William Shatner at a theatre my mother was working at. They had this big promotal barbaque. "Have your hotdogs cooked by William Shatner." He put them on the grill, turned them over, and then turned around and asked, "Are they done?" That was my impression of him-he can't cook hotdogs. lol
