Subject: So um.. it's been about a year...
since the last ranking changes.. I happen to like the penguin theme because it doesn't really relate to anything about the website. So I kept it, and changed it to all new penguins, except for the highest ranks (I think emperor and royal are quite adequate descriptions, you get the picture right away)..
no more dreaded Adeilie.. or little-blue ones (which are of course the cutest.. if I ever make it to New Zealand, I have to see one)..

Emperor doesn't really count. You're the only one. ;)
Subject: Re: So um.. it's been about a year...
I like it :) It's sort of abstract.

Aw, where's the "jacka*s penguin"? :-/

It just doesn't have the same appeal with the asterisk. ;) ;D

Subject: Re: So um.. it's been about a year...
I like the penguin theme myself.
Funny thing is, I seem to be finding more and more penguin photos and articles by accident, now that the concept is planted in my mind.
The only thing I would be interested in seeing different is to add one more rank for people with more than 500 posts...
Keep the Royal Penguin, by all means, but only award it after 1000 or even 5000 posts. Save Royal for those persons who have attained the status of "a whole lot". (Last time I looked, there were four such people, and one or two more creeping up there.)

Member of the same penguin family which contains the Adelie. Has orange beak and pink-orange feet. Ranging from 2'3" to 2'7" tall.

I think you did well with Penguins Chucky.

Yeah ! I wasn't here to know what it was like in the pre-penguin days, but they are an interesting sideline :)

The Dreaded Adelie has now been replaced by a much more agreeable species, the Chinstrap.

Pre-penguins, it was Calvin and Hobbes. This is why you might see a lot of C&H references in sigs and the like from those of us too lazy to change... ;D
