Subject: Help Please!
Hi, I really need some help on homework on balancing equations. I have three problems to do. What I have a question on is this:
Mg(ClO3)2
If I have Mg(ClO3)2, does this mean that this is Mg2, and that there is one ClO3?
Another example--
Al2(SO4)3
Okay. Does Al2 distribute to the 3, so that it makes Al6? And there is only one SO4, right? Things in parenthesis don't distribute, I don't think.
So, if I didn't totally confuse anyone, or fry anyone's brain, I would really appreciate anyone's help. I tried to make this pretty clear. Thanks so much!

Mg(ClO3)2 means you have a Mg2+ ion and TWO ClO3- ions :)
Al2(SO4)3 means you have 2 Al3+ ions and THREE SO4 2- ions
I'm too lazy to do super/subscript.

Considering you're a few years older than I, I was probably studying algebra and chem in junior high ;)

AMEN! This sounds weird but I would MUCH rather just be given homework and textbook numbers on how to do it then just listen. But my chemistry class is pretty fun (I guess it's cuz I'm at a small school).
I'm the same with math-I'd rather just look at the examples and figure it out myself than listen to the teacher talk all hour. :-/ Although it's quite funny to listen to all the times she uses the word "situation" and she says "Bling Bling" when she draws a graph. :D haha
I also hate trying to explain any kind of math to people, because it comes to me real easy, but its hard to explain and sometimes it just gets kinda irritating when people don't get something that seems so simple! >:(
