I must be the bearer of bad news.
I'm only gonna stop in now i'll come back later.


know some of you prayed for MAsq but it did no help. Masq_of_red_death commited suicide on Christmas Morning wile I was on vacation. I came back for the funeral. Ummm im not going to get into details.

She was only 15 years old. She was my bestfriend

She had some inner demons that wouldnt rest concerning her parents and her abandonment as a child. She was also Bipolor and schitophrenic.

Just pray for her aunt that is in the hospital because this is a crushing blow to them. Especially on their favorite holiday

Oh and ChuckyG once I get her password list off her computer I'll delete her profile off of here if you want me too.

Even though I never knew her.... So sorry to hear this... No-one in their right mind should think about suicide...  It's not a solution to any problem.

I've been sitting her for almost 10 minutes crying.  I didn't know her very well, and I can't seem to stop the tears. :'( :'( :'(

I want so much to reach out and help and I don't know how.

The only words I can come up with right now is a verse from a traditional Irish lament.  It's been recorded by many modern artists, but has been around for at least a hundred years.

I have lost a couple friends from suicide and drugs overdoses.. Its hard to handle especially when someone is do young.. This is a part of a poem from a friend’s family that they sent out after he died…

Angel,  I'm sorry you've lost your friend, and I'm sorry she saw no other way out.  If you need someone to talk to about any of this, or anything, you can pm me.  I lost a close friend to suicide, and I know how difficult it is to deal with.

Life can suck. I know. I feel sorry for your loss. She should have come her more often and interacted. I dunno how much it would have helped, but getting it off your chest can be good. And if her parents abused or neglected her, someone should go after them. The teenage years should be filled with great memories, not abuse which drives you to suicide.

I thought she was pretty cool and I'm glad we enjoyed the exchanges we had.

I'm quite shocked to learn of such devastating news.

I do feel a connection to you guys and gals here and losing her is like losing a piece of this community.

Or not.  Suicide is such a personalized thing, and for whatever reason, she saw this as her only way out...and she is at peace now.

I feel terribly sad -- Scorpion was a much loved part of our community here and her loss will be deeply felt. My condolences to her family and her close friends, both on and off the board.

Angel, you mentioned breifly that Masq was struggling with an illness that is somewhat familiar to me.  One of my closest friend's mother has been struggling for years with Bipolar Disorder and Schizoprenia.  It seems every time the doctors found a treatment that seemed to be helping her, either  her health plan would refuse to pay for it, or she would find she was allergic to the medication.

Neither illness is easy to live with, or treat effectively.

We are all hurt and saddened by losing her, especially since she was so young. I'm keeping you and her family in my prayers.

I am so sorry to hear about this...Scorp was a little cutie...and
as some of ther board members may know, I lost my son to suicide when he was only 17.  So I am one of the people who have lived this nightmare before and I know EXACTLY how you feel.....I am at a loss for words...please know that my soul weeps for the loss of your friend, and my prayers are for you and for her poor, grieving family. Whatever desperation and inner battle she had been fighting that drove her to this is over, and she is at peace.

I somehow missed this earlier, too.  

I was not aware that Scorpian/Masq was suffering so much! Gosh, that is just so sad that she felt there was no other escape than to take her own life!!!  I hope she is in a happier place now. :'(

So sad. Someone so young with an entire future ahead of her. Bipolar disorder and schizophrenia are terrible, dibiltating diseases. It's so unfortunate that Peace came only through the ultimate escape. Take care Angel. Life's lessons are not always easy.

It's sad to see someone go this young.  We're gonna really miss her around here.  Thank you, Angel, for passing along the sad and depressing news.  I always hate to hear stuff like this.  I hope her aunt gets over the loss.   :'(

It is sad to lose someone, suicide or not. I lost my younger sister at age 17 to Lupus, and I still feel like there's a shard of glass in my heart whenever I think of her. Words can't describe it...just know that God comforts those who mourn. God bless you and keep you all.

The worst part of suicide must be the people you leave behind. I trully hope and pray she is in a better place, where she will NEVER suffer again. Life can be great and it can be horrible. What I wish most is someone could have been there for her while she was alive.

It wasn't your fault, but it's alright to feel pain and remorse.  I wish there was something more poignant I could say, but nothing I can think of will sound right, so the only thing I guess I can say is that I hope you remember the good times you had with your friend, and hopefully, when you're ready, I and others will be here to cheer you up :)

There is nothing you could have done to prevented this, Angel.  There must have been a pain in her, somewhere, so deep and bitter that not you, maybe not anyone, could touch it and make it better.  You gave her friendship, and that made her life better, and happier, than you realize.

I am deeply saddened of the tragic death of Scorpian/masq of red death. In all honesty, I did not bother to read this thread when it was originally posted. I thought this was solely going to be a thread on discussing suicide, which I did not feel like commenting on. I regret that decision now that I found out it was one of our own. I had just gotten word from a member of the board who PMed me today. She was not in a good mood to divulged the bad news to me, and I apologize for putting her a couple others on the spot. Suicide hasn't effected my family, and I hope it never does. But the brother of one of my old friend's friend hung himself in circa '88 after college. (He was also Catholic, so the Church couldn't save him at his dire time.) And someone that worked close to our work section was also found hanged at his home over a weekend of '97. I had just noticed him at the ATM the Friday before taking out all his money. He looked deadly depressed.  
  I am sincerely praying for the family and friends of Scorpian, including They Call Me Angel and those on the message board fortunate enough to know her. Again I am sorry for the lateness of these words, especially coming on a hectic Saturday like today.

I didn't see this thread until just now - but the other day RNR Fan informed me. I am deepenly saddened to hear this. I think I got along with Scorpian real well, and I feel like I've lost a close friend. My heart goes out to the family and friends of Scorpian. :'(

My heart and thoughts go out to the friends and families of those who were lost. I didn't know either one but I am always saddened by the lost of young lives-especially when it is so tragic. There are really no words that I can say.  :'(
