Subject: Technical help needed

My new years resolution this year is to BACK UP !! I lost a lot of stuff when my hard drive died in 2002.
I think I have worked out most of it - I am totally self taught on the computer and by no means an expert by any description.
I cant for the life of me work out how to back up emails from Outlook onto cd. I emailed friends and all I got was "save them as RTF". I cant work out how to do that and I also cant work out how to read them again from the cd.
Does anyone out there do it regularly and if so - can I get a step by step instruction in the least possible technical terms ??
Many thanks in advance.

Hi BMG
I use Outlook Express (6) at work
If you select Options and go to the maintainance tab you will find a button to change the store location of your mailboxes.
In this directory, you will find several dbx files which contain the contents of your mailboxes.
For a backup, simply save these files.
