Subject: When Do You Listen To Music?
When do you listen to music, and what do you usually listen to? When I'm at the computer, I usually listen to Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, or the Wallflowers... when I'm doing homework, I listen to Santana a lot, also Sugar Ray... in the car, mainly Santana and the Spin Doctors... when I'm reading, I really don't like to listen to music at the same time, but I like some sort of background instrumental music.
Subject: Re: When Do You Listen To Music?
When I work out (which hasn't been for a while) I usually listen to something Techno that has a fast beat, then I try to move my fet to the music...
THe guys say I have to stop doing that, cause my heart rate maxes out to the point where if I push any harder, I go into cardiac arrest...
Subject: Re: When Do You Listen To Music?
I listen to music mainly while driving or at home in my studio. If I listen to the radio in the car it's the 80's station or I'll flip through to find something I like. At home I'll mix up whatever I'm in the mood for (last night it was a bouncy selection of mid-late 90's club/mixshow tracks, around 129 BPM). I usually try to tune into "12 Inch Saturday Night" on Saturdays to get my weekly dose of 80's extended versions all mixed together.
Subject: Re: When Do You Listen To Music?
I usually listen to music while I'm online, getting dressed, or in the car. I try and listen to music as much as possible! It depends on my mood what I listen to though. I listen to most anything, except for country, top 40, and rap.
Subject: Re: When Do You Listen To Music?
When I'm in my car and then it's usually the oldies station or the classic rock station, when I'm cleaning and then it's classical music or something like Les Misérables, when I really need to shut the world out and I put on headphones and turn the stereo up and then it's usually something dark and disturbing, and when I push back the furniture and dance in the living room and then it's anything that makes me want to dance.
Subject: Re: When Do You Listen To Music?
When I want to forget about the world. I turn on music and grab something to drink and dance around. I play whatever I am in the mood for. Sometimes it a certain type of music or sometimes it is from an certain era. Of course, I usually play one song from this cd and then one song from that cd. Rarely do I play an entire album in its entirety. I do that when I am doing housework. At night, I have my clock-radio set to classical to fall asleep to. It usually relaxes me except when they play something like Bolaro and then it is really hard to fall asleep. lol

I pretty much listen to music constantly.. even when I'm watching TV sometimes.. I have my stereo speakers in all the rooms of the house (yes, even the bathroom)..

The car - if it's not NPR, then it's KROQ or one of my many mixed eighties Euro-dance tapes
Working out - I'm with ya, Sync. And for the record, you probably won't go into cardiac arrest, you're just not burning the maximum amount of calories because your body's in emergency mode.
CLEANING HOUSE - can't fully function without something like Nine Inch Nails, Nitzer Ebb, The Shamen, even Book Of Love playing loudly in the background
The bath - This Mortal Coil/Dead Can Dance or the soundtrack to "The Last Temptation of Christ"

when I am on the computer, and Sundays when my normal station plays church services.
Subject: Re: When Do You Listen To Music?
I listen at work, in the car, in the bathroom when I am getting ready for work or taking a shower. I listen whenever I feel the need.

Anytime I can, especially 80's and not the repetitive top 40 either. :)

I tend to listen to music when I'm in the mood, the style depends on the mood I'm in too.I used to have it on constantly but now I've learned to appriciate silence sometimes ! At work I can wear a walkman but I find I like to listen to talking tapes as much as music. If I do listen at work it's usually bouncy stuff.
On a sunday morning I tend to listen to Hollywood musical type stuff and when I iron I like to listen to Rock and Roll like Eddie Cochran. For the housework I'm with Langdon it has to be loud and heavy!

I have to confess that I don't listen to music as much as I used to. I still love the stuff in my collection and appreciate new stuff coming out, just don't have the opportunity like I used to. To much news and talk to keep up with. I do listen in the car most frequently, usually to the Current "Alternative" station or sometimes a local 80's channel. The troulbe is there commercails get so annoying. I listen to NPR and a local talk station with a conservative and local issues agenda.
Of course Peal jam is the most frequent visitor to the CD player but I have anywhere from Tori Amos to Bob Marley to Eminem stopping it too. About the only stuff I cant listen to is a lot of counry music and opera or jazz vocal, love the big band stuff. My home stereo was good 10 years ago, the cats and age have been hard on the ol' Cerwin Vegas, hope to update soon and appreciate music from the living room again.
Subject: Re: When Do You Listen To Music?
I know! There used to be a time when I was the all for Rock n' Roll dude and stuff, nowdays I don't ever listen to music anymore. I took the stereo off from my car 'cause I was going to sell the car, then when I didn't get rid of the car (3 yrs later) I bought a new stereo, cool Alpine head unit, and a week after installing it, I wrapped the truck around a lampost!! totaled the car. Took it out, installed it in my next car, and it wouldn't work!! So now I remain musicless!!! Until further notice. (by the way besides other factors, I was fumbling w/the new-for-me stereo controls when I crashed, what a dummy!!)

When do I listen to music - ALL THE TIME! I would rather listen to music than watch TV. What do I listen to - my 80's compilation CD's normally.
Subject: Re: When Do You Listen To Music?
Typically I listen while on the computer, be it surfing or doing actual work. During drive time I tend to listen to talk radio, and the same is true for when I'm at work (although it's usually sports talk then).
Subject: Re: When Do You Listen To Music?
Most of the time...and lately when I'm making my own personal radio show tapes for Jessica :)
Subject: Re: When Do You Listen To Music?
"All Day And All Of The Night" (The Kinks) ;D
Seriously, I'd say I listen to music about 12 hours a day, every day. My world would be miserable without music...

Subject: Re: When Do You Listen To Music?
like all the time!
i imagine i hear things when the TV or stereo isn't on.
the voices tell me to turn on the music and I obey. ;)
Sum 41 never leaves the CD player.
