Subject: I'm back!
Just wanted to let everyone know that I've finally returned to the USA, but the way it happened was just too weird not to tell others about it. As I said before, I had overstayed my holiday visa in the UK and they had told me they were going to pay for my return to the USA. They were to send me a packet of info by registered mail about 3 weeks ago, but I never received it. IN the meantime I was reporting to the police every other day as per the order of immigration. On Wednesday they took me into custody claiming that they had sent me the flight info and I was supposed to have left on the 22nd but I skipped the flight. I had no knowledge of that and I never had been sent or signed for any such documents..nevertheless they detained me in a refugee camp for 3 days and deported me back to the US on friday. I'm a bit freaked out and have culture shock at the moment. But nevertheless, I'll be back posting regularly now that I have regular access to the internet at my mothers. :)

well technically, it was called a 'detention center', but I was the only one there who wasn't seeking asylum. I was told by the guards there that immigration laws have become stricter and they're not making as many acceptions for people these days, so it doesn't matter where you come from. I don't think I'll be banned from there the rest of my life, I only had an expired holiday visa. I had a lawyer and everything, but they didn't let me out until it was time for me to fly back. The asylum seekers I met were very nice, and they wondered what the heck I was doing there
