Subject: Spy-Ware! It Just Happened To Me

There's this sneaky as heck spy-ware called Brilliant Digital.

I'm not at all sure how in this world I acquired it. I have high security on my computer, firewall and all. I do not accept cookies from any site, except a trusted couple.

I do use WinMx, however. WinMx in itself is supposed to be spy-ware free, but some of the people do share Kazaa files within. Kazaa is the most notorious carrier of this particular piece of spy-ware.

I continually ran my Ad-Aware software from Lava Soft. It picked-up nothing.  :o

Turns out there's an UPGRADE, NEWER version of AD-AWARE I was not aware of.  :-/

Once I went to the Lava Soft website, downloaded the newer version of Ad-Aware and installed it, I ran it and it picked-up 20 pieces of Spy-Ware from Brilliant Digital.  >:(

Needless to say, I checked them all off and deleted them and cleaned out my system. A very easy process with the Ad-Aware software. Without it, it is a bit more tricky.
