Subject: I feel the need to clarify myself
The dreaded thread was locked so I am posting separately.
I seem to be misunderstood. I feel I have to defend myself and help others understand me. I tried to avoid pointing out posts and names but as a result, my meaning was lost. What I said in that last post (which I see is also deleted) had absolutely nothing to do w/HS. This points out exactly what I tried to reference - people sometimes have hard times writing exactly what is meant, and sometimes it's hard to understand what they meant in writing.
In his posts, Fuss kept modifying the word "discussion" w/"intelligent" in a sarcastic way as if we (the non-gamers) were insulting him and others who play games. I simply tried to say I never used that modifier, much less tried to imply anyone was stupid; that they could be "dumb" (aka "fun") discussions for all I cared. Which is why I brought up the fashion and music subject, to show not all of our discussions are so serious as politics, which some of the posts seemed to imply.
I didn't want to implicate anyone so I tried to leave Fuss and all out of it. And we've had a nice chat about it ourselves. Now I've had to point it out and he'll probably be mad at me now. :(
I wasn't insulting anyone or being condescending, esp for HS, for whom I felt sorry taking all that flak! Yet now I'm persona non grata. :'( :'(

I have stuck my hand in the fire a few times myself...and I have survived. You will too. I'm not mad anymore at anybody. I come here to smile and hopefully help others to do the same. ;)

I am feeling the same way Rebel. When I tried to clarify what I was trying to say, I felt I either got jumped on, or ignored.
I tried to clarify that I was having trouble finding the words, and then clarified later, and still I got in trouble.

My apologies - it was not intended to be sarcastic - I was trying to point out the inferences contained within the earlier thread to which I referred and that was that lots of people spent their time in games as opposed to discussions proper - from my perspective in that thread there was a definite 'should' type of indiction - or rather that some things were 'more right' than others.
I was trying to point out that I spend all day having "Intelligent conversations' at work - by the time I get home long conversations are the last thing I want to engage in - I want to relax - debating is not a form of relaxation to me, that's all.

We have had a nice chat and I don't have a problem with anything I have read here Rebel ;) I am not mad at you.

I cannot comment as I do not know what was posted/deleted, but you are not PNG in my regard, okay ?

Rebel,
You are not persona non grata with me either. I always enjoy reading your posts, and respect your opinions.

It was directed at the_OlLine_Rebel, but Thank you too for being so nice. :)

Well, my two-cents on two of my favorite posters around here:
OlLine - Yeah, you can be blunt as a shovel. That's what makes your posts so much fun. They're honest, they're provocative, and they're articulate. And intelligent. I've never seen one that was mean spirited.
Hairspray - You are an all around cool person, and if I wrote anything in the above mentioned "dreaded thread" that hurt or offended you, my apologies. I've tried, and I think I've been fairly successful, to avoid personally attacking, or making some feel personally attacked. But like OlLine said, sometimes words fail to convey our thoughts.

I seem to be misunderstood myself. But I really liked the fact that you did try to spice up the sports figures thread with racehorses…

Thanks for you kind words. I understand we were all being "swept by the current". It is also quite easy to misread and misinterpret people's statements. As upsetting as that thread was, I'm confident we are all a little better for it. :)
Subject: Re: I feel the need to clarify myself
As the other thread is no longer around....
I wish to say that I am sorry for any hurt or discomfort I caused yesterday, it was not my intention, not to 'attack' anybody.
I was just passionate about the issue at hand.

Aawww, now I feel all warm and fuzzy! ;D ;D Thanks all!
Hairspray - you're welcome for the clarification, and thanks alot for hearing me out. I'll try to better convey my thoughts in the future. ;) (Any help would be accepted!)

Uhhhh.... are you asking me to help you be politically correct? :) ;)
