Clear channel came to our town a couple years ago....Mother 96.1 was Classic Rock That REALLY Rocks and they unleashed a relentless attack on the 2 "other" Classic Rock stations here....98.1 KKFM and KYZX 103.9 The Eagle.  KKFM started ticking me off by changing thier slogan to "Colorado's Only Real Classic Rock" (Which they still say today...while The Eagle (Where I almost had a job as a DJ) has stayed kind with thier "All Rock And Roll Classics" slogan. Now, not being able to top the other stations in town with that stradegy, they have changed thier slogan to "Rock That Really Rocks" and have gone after the other hard rock station, KILO 94.3 (Pure Rock). My anger seethes as this huge cooperation has come here and tried to take over the air-waves.  They have also formatted themselves to play a bevy of Metallica and it annoys the heck out of me.  It's very similar to when I was growing up when KKFM used to play TONS of Pink Floyd...yuck! Maybe KKFM is in partnership  with 96.1 with thier ignorance.  It's also as if KKFM has never figured out that there are many other Classic Rock stations here in Colorado?  I'm so glad there are Cassettes, CD's and The Eagle ;)

you're lucky they play Rock - thanks to the way things are run in the UK we have a large number of private-owned radio stations playing the same chart-pop rubbish while saying how good they are every five minutes and going for advert breaks >:(
