One of the other moms at my daughter's afterschool program is co-ordinating costumes with me.  We will be Cinderella.  I'm before, she's after.

I am wearing one of my old prairie-style skirts I have from the 80's; under that I have two more skirts of different (clashing) colors, and different lengths.  Jogging pants, and three pairs of socks (also in clashing colors) up over the pants at different heights, and my old construction boots I wore at my old job.  I've got a paint-splattered plaid flannel shirt, and a torn man's cardigan sweater I borrowed from my mother's landlord (he uses them to clean his brushes).  I'm teasing my hair till it's messy, and wrapping a bandanna around it haphazardly.  All I gotta do is rub some dirt on my cheek and forhead, and I'm good to go.

I'll also be carrying a bucket, some sponges, and a spray-bottle marked "cleaning fluid"  It will only have plain water in it, in case one of the kids gets hold of it.

It's promising to be a cold night here, so I'm not worried about overheating.  There will be prizes at the party for the most original costume, and one for "home-made", that is, the fewest store-bought components. Wish us luck!

Well, me and two of my co-workers are dressed up as See (sunglasses), Hear(earmuffs) and Speak(duct tape) No Evil today.  And we're all wearing all black and devil horns.

I'm dressed up as Alice from Alice in Wonderland. Other members on my team are dressed up as the Mad Hatter, March Hare, Chesire Cat, and Queen of Hearts.

Me too!!  But, I was wearing a sweatshirt with Snoopy and a pumpkin on it..does that count?  ;)  My daughter was Belle from Beauty and the Beast (my nephew was the beast--they were a cute pair!)  and both my boys were vampires.  Granted the baby was in a "Baby Vampire" bunting (sooo cute, I might add!)...but he screamed a majority of the walk (real tough being pushed in a stroller, hunh?  ::)) so I guess he was being a very scary screaming vampire!  LOL!

Um, honey??  I do recall you wearing a costume last night.  Some call it a trick, others a treat.  Maybe I was on a candy high or something.  Did I dream you as a harem mistress, or did you really dress up like that??   :o :o  Happy HOWLween.

Update!!!

I won the costume contest for "most original" in the adult division!!! :D  I got a gift certificate for $20 to the local grocery store.  They said everyone who dresses as Cinderella wears a fancy gown, sometimes carrying a shoe.  Most people don't think about what she looked like before her fairy godmother shows up. ;)

For the kids, the best costumes were won by a short-haired girl dressed up as Harry Potter, a boy as a really scary-looking Gene Simmons (of Kiss), and a really sparkly looking 'rock star' girl. They got assorted toys for their prizes.

I thought the best costume was one of the YMCA staffers.  He came as "Sponge-Sean Squarepants".

My friend Mike, who works at a bar (Big Suprise), bought a costume where it had a blow up doll with the legs up...it appears that the doll is giving him a piggy-back ride...he had the contest all but won until 3 beautiful girls walked in wearing nothing but Latex...complete with no body hair.  They took 1st, 2nd & 3rd place....As for ME...well, I get stopped Enough in the streets during the year and am constantly asked...."It's not Halloween, so why are you wearing that mask?" I also have been told that I have a great Face for radio :D
