Apparently, this survey is biased. It doesn't tell anyone the best tasting cola, just which is more popular. The 6 people who picked the right cola should be proud of standing up to the establishment. ;D
Subject: Re: Okay, let's vote then...
OK, I'll clarify mine.
Coke - Better tasting soda, sweeter, without an aftertaste. More enjoyable.
Pepsi - too citrus-y, with a bad aftertaste
So, Coke - 11
Pepsi - 6
Subject: Re: Okay, let's vote then...
Okay, here's my take.
Coke, too sweet, with bitter cinnamon aftertaste, watered down. too much carbonation. Good for mixers, but that's it.
Pepsi, smooth, good over ice. Not too strong. Not as corrosive as Coke.
Stand tall, Pepsi drinkers. ;)

I used to work for a company that manufactured it's own brand of soda/pop. They use a recipe that is just as old (or older) than the ones used by the "Big Two", and deliberately tilt the flavoring more towards that of Coke, because is sells better around these hyear parts.

Actually, that's a survey/study on how people call soft drinks regionally, whether they call it Soda, Pop, or Other.
What generic word do you use to describe carbonated soft drinks? (Note that these could be of any brand or type, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, 7-Up, etc. We are concerned with the overall word, not a specific brand.)
The Choices:
Pop
Soda
Coke
Other (please specify word)
So if anything, it proves that the people who choose to call their cabonated drinks anything else other than Soda or Pop, call it Coke!
Had they done a survey as to which region "drinks" the most of either Coke or Pepsi, the results would probably differ in only that the Coke margin would be greater and more widespread. ;D

Let me finish that for you, Steve. In defense of Pepsi, Pepsico has never stopped selling it's original formula even when trying to sell p!ss poor products like Crystal Pepsi or Pepsi AM. Coke, on the other hand, has "retired" it's original formula not once, but twice. It took a public outcry to bring it back as Coke Classic, but the damage had already been done. As for Coke's supposed medicinal purposes, Pepsi was once used to treat dypepsia and other digestive disorders. It was invented by a phamacist who named it Brad's Cola, after himself. And it didn't include anything that is illegal now. :P

Subject: COKE TRIVIA!
Apologies in advance if this has already appeared here (I havent read all 5 pages of posts thoroughly)...but this is some interesting COKE trivia for you...
SANTA CLAUS - that happy jolly icon of Xmas wearing his read britches and red coat trimmed with white fur, NEVER HAD a fixed 'identity' (ie: never had a certain 'look') until in the early 1900's (1912? - the time since my early 90's uni lectures have made the dates a bit foggy), when Coca Cola "branded" him with their corporate colours RED & WHITE! He first appeared in the press and media as this rosy-cheeked dude in white-trimmed red clothes holding a bottle of coke, and this symbol has since worked its way into mainstream society and found a place itself in modern culture even to this day!
Now THATS what I call a VERY SUCCESSFUL marketing idea!!!

Bobo is correct - he must have a good map (mind you, nothing has changed in Yonks...). The ACT exists primarily because the country's capital, Canberra, is in it, hence the name...it is wholly located within NSW.
The Northern Territory recently had a referendum, and they decided against becoming a state proper. The ramifications of becoming one or staying as a territory I don't know, as I am for the most part a political numbnut... ::)

Most of the time such typical anti-capitalist stories (which is what they are - oooooo those evil corps, nevermind they have no power over us like gov's do) are big misinterpretations. That silly IBM book the other year, for ex. Accusing IBM of helping kill Jews by providing database systems. But what it turned out to be, if I recall, was an already-established IBM subsidiary taken over (naturally) by the German Nazi gov w/little control, and previously w/no knowledge about what the purposes were.
Do you recall the Pepsi infiltration of Soviet Union? (Oh, that's right, no 1's as bad as the big bad Nazis.) Or, do you think they helped destroy the USSR?
Watch what you read on the Internet, too. There's alot of crap out there spread by people who really haven't done much work. (For ex., an old co-worker scaring me to death about giving my pup Lyme Disease shots the other week - she thinks hers has epilepsy cuz of it. "Look it up on the 'net!" People on the 'net, likely those stupid holistic nuts, are spreading these stories and fears. The vet had no idea what I was talking about, only what I already knew - our breed has a slight higher propensity for epilepsy.) Citing ref's doesn't always prove anything, either, unless you know what they actually say - and look at it critically.

Vanila, Cherry, Lemon/Lime have always been available in syrup form for those who like it added to their Coca-Cola in restaurants and diners. It's the old-fashioned way! IMO, it's much better tasting that way. I believe the canned version's taste is different altogether. As far as Vanilla Coke's concerned, it's only been available in the canned form recently. At least Pepsi drinkers know that cola is a drink, not food. So that erases the "brain" part. :P ::)

How does everyone think of Red Bull? I'm almost afraid to drink it because I might try to walk on water and drown.
But I'm not afraid to drink Pepsi. :P
Subject: Re: Okay, let's vote then...
So does Coke. ;D
Quoting:
It's got caffeine. I don't drink caffeinated drinks.

Whether or not you drink Coca Cola, you have to admit they have an impressive advertising history.
Subject: Re: Okay, let's vote then...
Coke and Pepsi have the market pretty much cornered, but I'll always be a fan of the obscure drinks, like Josta (with guarana!), Jolt and the ever elusive Whupass Cola.
Subject: Re: Okay, let's vote then...
Yes! :)
The Coca-Cola Company is an advertising genius and always has been right from the beginning.
