Subject: Dad's condition
Written By: Dude on 10/01/02 at 06:56 a.m.
Just wanted to thank all of you who sent their prayers and well-wishes to myself and my family last week when we found that my Father had prostate cancer. A couple of you said I should keep you posted so just a short note. Dad started radiation therapy yesterday and the doctor is telling us that their 80% sure they can put it in remition for at least 5 and possibly 15 or 20 years without any chemo or operations. His spirits are up and he's going into this with a positive attitude and from my experience thats a huge part of any recovery.
So much for the short note huh? ::) Anyway I appreciate the prayers more than you could imagine, and don't stop now. :D

Sounds like an excellent start Hossy. I would have to agree with you, from my experience also, a positive attitude is a great help in recovery. God Bless... BR

Hossy,
I missed the original thread (I think -- my memory is not what it used to be), so I just want to say that I am happy to hear that your Dad has a hopeful prognosis. Cancer is a very scary word, so to know that someone who has it has a good chance of longer-term survival is always a very positive thing to hear. Thanks for updating us.

Wonderful news Hossy. Attitude is definitely the best "treatment" when cancer is involved. Continued good luck to your Dad.

I am glad that your dad is doing better. My dad get a endoscopy every five years to make sure he doesn't have colon cancer, and I'll be checking in two and a half years. I hope everything goes well for the two of you. You are in my prayers.
