This is a good topic.Now,what item(s) in today's society are the most commonplace(being seen all the time).Now,I'll give you mine:

-cellphones:(what else is new) ;D
-cellphones with earpieces:(rarely being seen in Manhattan)
-palm pilots:I used to see them on buses.
-walkmans:You just have to see them almost every day when you walk the streets.Even schoolkids are wearing em'.
-laptops:I see them being used in freakin' restaurants. ::)The small kind.
-phones that are being used like walkie-talkies.That's the device where that person doesn't give a crap who overhears his/her conversation.
-MP3 players:this must be the new thing.people store music in one player.up to 20 hours.
-CD players(portable)Kids use these on the train,buses,walking down the street.with so little pockets,how in the hell can you fit that big thing without your wallet flying out? ;D

Cell phones, definitely.  I'm sick of seeing them all over the place, I mean I guess I don't care if people use them, but when people talk on them during a concert or movie or something, it's downright annoying.  

Maybe this is just a California thing but, every women has a belly button piercing.

Definately cell phones. I don't mind them. I have one, love it.

But not every dufus should be allowed to own one. #1 on the dufus scale are the complete idiots who talk on the phone and hold up traffic on the freeway cuz they can't drive and talk at the same time. Grrrrrr >:(

My #2 pet peeve are the people who come into my place of business on their cell and they just keep yaking and laughing as if they aren't disturbing anyone else around them. Grrrrr >:(

I also agree with TripsMom on the belly piercing thing. (you in LA as well?) Women/girls are all wearing shorty tops to show off their pierce...even those who should not be wearing shorty tops LOL.  ::)
