did it really do the date in that screwy European format? or did you just happen to change it.. I'm working on software we sold to a British company, and we keep having to worry about that stuff.. the rest of the world should just do it our way and stop making us change.. month-day-year not day-month-year..
oh wait.. I wonder if this BBS software actually handles it depending on your preferences.. I never looked that closely I guess...
Subject: Re: FB's 'acme' definition of loneliness....
It does work perfectly throughout the site in European format on account of preferences, although I didn't realise that until recently. I've learned to live with both, though.
As for mm-dd-yyyy formats, I've seen places which use yy-mm-dd hh-mm-ss format, (for example, 02-08-29, 20:28.00) and that just looks really weird in books and things. I tend to avoid looking at them, but I've grown to get used to the Euro-Yanko formats.

year first, man.. couldn't get used to that.. the date format isn't killing me too bad actually.. the parts of the system I work on, I coded with the month spelt out, and their willing to except August 24, 2002 instead of 24 August 2002.. I imagine there's enough American influence poisoning the software industry that enough Europeans are used to it by now..

You are too colorful a personality to ignore. So if that happens it means people are trying extra hard to ignore you, which really means you are very noticed! ;D (That is supposed to be a comfort, BTW, in a left handed sort of way... ::) )

I had no choice but to play with myself (so to speak) :D

Thank you for forgiving me. I have since been off having my rant in the height thread, which may destroy a few illusions of my happy demeanour.... ::)
Still the truth hurts. When I calm I may find something positive to say in response to your 'opposite' dilemna......
For dinner, I had a particularly unsatisfying bowl of potato and leek soup, which was too thick... I would hasten too add that is probably the healthiest thing I have tried to eat in years.. Then I had a piece of garlic Bread....
So later on I imagine I will literally be that gasbag that you referred too..... :D

Subject: Re: FB's 'acme' definition of loneliness....
No potato and leek soup does not appeal,I could handle the garlic bread though! (perhaps not at this time in the morning)I have a cheese, sweetcorn and mayo sandwich with my name on it only 10 mins to go.........
I shall cautiously go to the height thread then......

There was lots of good Aus music in the 70s and early 80's but it sorta went down the sinkhole after that....... :(

I don't know about the "sinkhole" part, Fuss. What about Crowded House? Or Natalie Imbruglia? I'm sure there are others...but that's all who comes to mind right now. :-/

Sorry ! I tend to over-dramatise things when I speak !
There has still been some good stuff, not forgetting to add Hunters and Collectors to the names you mentioned above...
I meant that the 70s and early 80s were the halcyon days for aussie music in my opinion, there isn't the 'overall' quality these days that there was then.....
