Subject: Pictures in people's taglines
could we all tone down the amount and size of the pictures in the taglines? there seems to be a growing amount of people who place a bunch of large pictures in their taglines, animated gifs, etc. it's a little overwhelming and distracting..
am I the only person who thinks this?

They don't overwhelm me but they do overwhelm my 33.6K dialup connection a tad...

no...webtv's slow enough as it is (please don't laugh...there was no convincing the head of the house in getting a real computer, since all she wanted was the internet...believe me, i tried like heck to get her to get a computer, but no luck).

No, I don't think so. I find all the animated gifs pretty annoying, whether they are in a sig line or someplace else. It's distracting when you're trying to read a post. Just MO of course.

I'm with you, Chucky. I think they are annoying.

I do agree that R&RF's use of the stick snake and Jeannie does cause the pages to be a lot wider than they should be, but whatever turns him on sometimes causes my 56k connection to gag if the images are not cached on my computer…

Oops ::)
I'll see if I can get a still!

I find it distracting when there are too many animated things going on at once!

Good Job, Taoist ;) And as for the rest of you...I have toned it down...I apologize for the inconvience (I got carried away from a site that had a LOT to offer!)
Subject: Re: Pictures in people's taglines
No. no. no! I just learned how to do pictures :-/
Subject: Re: Pictures in people's taglines
I don't think a picture is a bad thing. I just don't like it when the sig line is so long that it makes the whole screen too wide.

Actually, I liked R&RFan's Jeannie animation, but you're right. I definitely wouldn't want people's signature lines polluting this site (like some other polluted site I mentioned before ;) ).

Yes but the strange thing about this is that when I moved Jeannie down, next to the snake she didn't make the screen wider at all...Oh well ;)
Subject: Re: Pictures in people's taglines
Ok i do believe that too much of a good thing can sometimes become a bad thing.
but personally I like the animated .gifs and some of the kewl and wild items that show up.
after all if it was all just text, how boring.
so i guess im saying, its good to have moderation but lets please keep our quirky side as well.
play fun kids and remember "Its all fun and games untill someone gets hurt."
"Then its just fun."

They don't bug or distract me.

Well, I can certainly understand the screen being to wide pissing people off...that's why I corrected it by re-locating Jeannie....ah but we seem to be in the minority ;)

Yup, LOL! ;D Anyways, when you moved Jeannie, it didn't make my screen wide anymore.

Maybe they were just too big...I think that was the main beef people had...they certainly weren't offensive to people...I hope :D

Somehow, I can't imagine Jeannie being offensive...
